First for taste
you're allowed to post a picture of the rifle edition
how does one properly attach a two-hook ak74 sling?
>pic hopefully not related, because that's lame
>>31665922
>fun fact, kalashnikov-usa is going to release a SVD and VSS by Q3 2017
>>31665970
Oh and legion is bringing in RPKs by tomorrow. Trust me my dad works at Nintendo
>>31665970
Can't wait
>forever
>>31665970
I don't believe you. Maybe if they show one at SHOT it'll be possible after a few years at least, but there's no way they're getting imports for a SVD or VSS approved without someone finding out.
Considering buying a Draganov. Is it worth it?
>>31666009
>game changer
>again
>>31666022
>he doesnt realize that the VSS is was just introduced to the Russian civilian market
>>31665954
:^)
>>31665825
>Mandalorian symbol on the mag
You have Punisher grips on your 1911 too, don't you faggot?
>>31665970
They haven't even put out there "Saiga 9" clone or any of their U.S. made rifles.
Vaporware
>>31666092
>owning a 1911
Why is the collapse and death of Yugoslavia both fascinating and terrifying?
>>31666037
Worth is subjective
>>31666009
I actually worked at Nintendo for a while. :^)
>>31666022
Considering they have yet to release anything. You'd be retarded to believe it.
>>31666104
The whole company is basically vaporware.
>>31666073
What that means: literally nothing at all
It would have to be configured in a legal configuration for importation to the US market, and then approved for importation, which it wouldn't be because the ATF won't do that because it's not on the list of the allowed guns of the voluntary trade restriction.
>>31666022
>What is the MA-Vintorez
>literally doesnt know that the rifle is now available to civillians in both Russia and Finland
>literally doesn't know that kalashnikov-usa has been tooling up a factory in florida that is going to be online by Q1 2017
>literally doesn't know that an SVD and VSS are both going to be manufactured from 100% US parts by 2019
>literally stupid
Not yugo but you get it.
>>31666073
By Molot Arms not Molot
>>31666142
Halflife 3 when
>>31666162
No. It means that the unobtainium state secret design of the VSS is no longer under lock and key in Russia. This means they are more than likely going to license the design now, otherwise one of them will be reverse engineered considering they are streaming into the Russian and Finnish markets now.
Here's my AK on my canoe. One day I will take both out and it will be good day.
5.45 is best
>>31666189
Just like the SVD will be licensed by a US manufacturer any day now. I heard Black Horse Arsenal is already tooling up to make VALs, I can't wait.
>>31666233
>BHA
>>31666073
I'm well aware. What you're forgetting about is all the absurd bullshit that occurs when you try to export firearms from Russia and then try to bring them into the US.
That's ignoring the pain in the ass process they'd have to go through to even get them approved for import and sale in the first place.
>>31666211
How do you like the obzor, I have been thinking of getting a 5.45 ak sometime soon and thought it looked like one of the best slav optics for an intermediate rifle given the non magnified and non battery design.
shame the triangle pads look so awkward; they seem to be a great improvement over the original pads
>>31666233
>Black Horse Arsenal
You should know better.
>>31666338
>>31666272
>sarcasm
lol wtf
>>31666310
It's the tits providing you can get used to the chin-weld.
>>31666168
Unless you have some actual proof of any of this you're just making things up to... gain notoriety as anon? Not sure what your endgame is.
>>31666374
>kalashnikov-usa has been tooling up a factory in florida that is going to be online by Q1 2017
Why would anyone want something made by them since they can't even get their shit together for SHOT show?
>>31666411
>Just finished building my AR
Do you see this? Do you see this right here? Go grab your AR and look on the left side. Does it have a picture of a colt horse engraved in it? Does it have the most important 4-letter word in America, "COLT", right next to it?
Then I'm afraid I've got some bad news. You see, you wasted your money on a crappy AR made by some fly by night company that has absolutely no history. That has absolutely no heritage. That absolutely nobody outside of your hipster friends even knows about, and even if they did they wouldn't buy it because they'd be smart enough to realize there's no good reason to buy an AR from any other company besides COLT.
Because when you buy COLT, you buy quality. People like to bitch and moan and claim you're "paying extra for the pony". You're damn shitting right we are. We're paying extra for a high quality no-bullshit meant-to-be-used-and-abused-and-still-work (not kept in a safe so you can show it off to your internet "friends") product made by a high quality no-bullshit company that's been making guns in this country for CENTURIES. Not a couple of years. Not a decade. FOR ONE HUNDRED SIXTY MOTHER FUCKING YEARS. People buy AKs because of their "history"? All I can say is LOL.
>>31666426
Fine, wait and see. Or you know, call them and ask if they are hiring machinists. They will tell you that they are not at the moment but to check the website closer to February.

>They will tell you that they are not at the moment
Oh nevermind.
>>31666522
Its going to be awesome. I know that the SVD is going to be priced over 2k but it will be worth it.
>>31665797

>At least your format is good
>>31666455
Hey man, don't post that just willy-nilly. It works best when used in moderation.
>>31666535
I like that we have a wide variety of shills here. It must be tough advertising things that don't exist.
>>31666535

They take a while. Americans demand shit immediately.
>>31666619
I'm only worried because one of them was the last in stock and I want it
>>31666606
Any time you order ak stuff from overseas (especially Russia) just assume you set that money on fire until your parts actually arrive. It makes the whole experience a lot less stressful.

Go through the checkout process again
>>31666645
Invoice isn't a receipt, he hasn't sent money yet
>>31666535
Why pay over 2k for one here when I can get one directly from romania with scope and everything for that price.
Do I buy an RAS47, C39v2, or WASR10
>>31666792
WASR easily. Don't even consider the other two.
Guys I'm starting to have some worries about the election, do I sell my Russian SKS for 500+ and grab a good AK instead? Or should I just keep the SKS
Or stop being a worried little bitch
>>31666211
Well that's nice, anon
>>31666840
I'd keep the SKS and save up for an AK.
>>31666829
Wait why? James Yeager reviewed them both and didnt have any issues in several thousand rounds...
>>31666842
Ew 5.56
>>31666904
>James Yeager
Why on earth would you consider him an authority on AKs? Go watch some videos from AKOU.
Where is the best place to buy mags?
how do I into next VA mag buy?
>>31666904
Do you want an AK that will last several thousand rounds or several decades? Get the WASR.
>>31666957
I like those $10 Polish mags on AIM. They also have Bakes if you're looking to spend a little more.
>>31666904
>James Yeager
Literal shill. I mean he literally is paid by Century to say good things about their AKs.
He talked shit about 1911s and AR10s until he started getting them for free.
Everyone at Tactical Responce is a every negative gun enthusiast stereotype rolled into one.
>>31666997
Im looking for plums and true blacks, but I'll check those out too.
>>31667054
I'm not saying he's a legit person, but he did fire several thousand rounds through those rifles in the elite classes at tactical response. you can hate the guy and everything he stands for and still respect the results he got on his tests.
That being said, are there any major known issues with the C39v2 or RAS? or is the hate for them more just 'muh eastern yuropean guns r historical'
>>31666942
>>31667258
He didn't test shit. He probably just got a replacement every time one failed. They use shitty cast parts. Hell, the RAS that AK operators union used lasted 5k rounds but it was a danger to shoot by the end.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bSiyfENeiQ
>>31667291
Nice ar-15 faggot.
>>31667335
Shiiit. I'm actually an ME intern right now so this is right up my alley. Thank you. Any similar videos on these rifles I should check out? I'm just beginning to research AKs with plans of buying one in November.
>>31667394
>with plans of buying one in November
Good luck.
Does /akg/ keep extra "surplus" triggers and safeties just in case of accidents? Like rigged elections? :^
>>31667446
I store them offsite at my dog burial grounds
>>31667446
If you feel like cutting into your internal rail and drilling into your receiver you can do whatever you want.
If it gets to the point where we need full auto guns we won't have to make them, just pick them up.
>>31665970
>Kalashnikov USA
You mean the shit company related to Kalashnikov concern by nothing other than name? The ones who have failed to deliver anything? The ones with with a picture of a converted saiga covered in loltacticalrails as their "flagship product"
>US made SVD and Vintorez in 2017!
No. These are too complicated and specific for a bunch of chucklefucks to actually bother to mill out all the necessary parts and receivers. The amount of money involved would be insane, and this company doesn't seem to have enough capital to deliver a single thing they have made in house.
>>31667365
Your bait is weak and gay. Have this $1100 C39.
Why are AKs so hard to find right now? Literally I can go to any gunshop and see 10 ARs on the wall, or go on ANY site and they are in stock. Meanwhile the only AKs I can find are online, and the only ones in stock are the shitty RAS-47s and PAPs.
I am literally holding my credit card trying to give my money to someone for an AK right now and I am unable to find a WASR for under 700.
>>31667755
1) Elections
2) War in Syria means a lot of the foreign manufacturers have stopped making rifles for the US and haven't been importing them
3) Century, the biggest importer of affordable foreign AKs, is really trying to push their garbage US made rifles and are limiting foreign made AKs while increasing their price so that their US made ones are cheaper and more.
>>31667803
>cheaper and more.
Didn't finish my sentence before posting
so that their US made AKs are cheaper and more appealing due to their price
>>31667755
After the sandy push for another AWB and the panic that followed, people bought shitloads of ARs and AKs, among other things.
There are boatloads of sources for ARs and AR parts here in the US because nothing has to be imported. It's a buyer's market.
The two most popular 7.62x39 AKs worth buying are imports that are no longer being exported to the US civilian market while they fulfill military contracts.
I can't decide, /k/. I want to SBR an AK, because freedom.
I can't decide between the M92 PAP which none of my LGS's have been able to find with their dealers.
Or a Draco Pistol (full size pistol w/ 12" barrel).
M92 PAP:
>$550 w/o tax if any of my LGS's can fucking find one, it's been months
>Better built because Serbs
>Better finish
>Tighter construction
>Krink sights are sex
>Can make it look like my Krink wet dream
Cons:
>Proprietary Yugo everything
>Non-chromed barrel (which can be good or bad, I'll be shooting ComBloc shit)
Draco:
>Cheaper by $50-100
>Uses standard AK everything
>Cheap to customize because standard everything
>chrome lined barrel
>Good ol' AK sights
Cons:
>Not as good finish as the M92.
>One part of the buffer is plastic but people say they never break
>Romanian made
Help, /AK/.
Also, AK sights or Krink sights in your opinion.
Pic related is a Draco build I'd do if I bought it.
>>31667881
M92 PAP build if I got it.
>>31667881
More ideas.
>>31667881
I'd also say the 12" barrel on the Draco is a Pro as well. The M92 is 10".
are milled century underfolders put together with soft and shitty internals? i have a chance to get one for $700.
>>31667881
>Proprietary Yugo everything
What are you planning on changing that you can't find the parts for though?
There's plenty of yugo aftermarket.
>Or you can make other parts fit
Here's an M92 with a dong.
>>31668051
You're right, man!
It's just that from what I've gone online and looked at, standard AK stuff is cheaper.
Is that your PAP and Dong? Looks great, Anon.
>>31668064
>Is that your PAP and Dong? Looks great, Anon.
Nah, just something I ran across, thought it was cool.
>standard AK stuff is cheaper.
This is an acceptable reason, but handguards and muzzle devices are the only things that are really proprietary.
(If you want to put a regular grip on it you will need a standard grip bolt)
I mean until you get into the guts of the gun anyway.
Even then most standard part will fit, sans bolt and bolt carrier.
So the chrome lining of the Draco or the nonCL M92 should be the only real factor.
And honestly either will probably outlive you.
>I'm a Yugo guy so I'd get a M92 myself, but Draco's are cool too.
Plus the Krink-ness of the 92 is cooler to me.
>>31668037
See the video >>31667335 here. Unfortunately posts having been going around saying that despite the Century milled receivers being a step up from their stamped rifles their BCGs are still soft and inferior. Most people have been replacing them with Bulgarian or Romanian BCGs.
For $700 you'll have to blow another $100-120 on a spare BCG if yours fails. Wait for DDI's under-folder or buy an import.
>>31667446
Why would you even want full auto? Most well trained soldiers who aren't machine gunners rarely, if ever, use full auto or burst. If you don't have a very large or replenishing ammo cache it's pretty silly.
So bored
trying to decide between a lee armory build parts kit gun or a wasr, both are unfortunately around same price right now, and wasr's are starting to become harder and harder to find
>>31668797
Wasr
>>31668820
should i be worried about the quality of a lee armory build? The only reason I considered it is because it saves me from having to buy new wood for the WASR.
>>31668845
I don't know anything about them but it's hard to beat a factory built gun
>Four true black mags delayed AGAIN
At least they're only one state away now instead of being across the country I guess, but still I paid an extra two bucks for two day shipping when as of right now they're pushing four days
>>31668971
I never thought of it but I'm way over here in Washington where there are no hurricanes (although we've got a pretty bad storm that should be coming in Saturday that apparently might be the worst we've seen in like 50 years) and I guess back east they're having some hurricane trouble, so it makes sense they're delayed
>>31668845
Don't. I'd show you some AK Files threads on some shitty builds people have gotten but Lee Armory has Vendor status there and gets mods to delete them..
>>31666606
i recently ordered there, 1st day and invoice came in 3rd and they shipped it on 7th day, and today i pick it up from post office after work
>>31667881

I've had entirely too much caffeine this morning.
My WASR came with this in the Century box.
When I went to pick it up from the LGS and do the transfer, I kind of laughed about it coming with a Mosin sling and the owner of the gun store told me it was an AK sling.
Have there ever been AK slings like this, or did Century just throw this in because it's better than no sling?
Also, the store owner kind of laughed at me when I was checking for canted sites. He said that hasn't been a problem for 15 years. Is that true? Have canted sites been fixed for that long?
>>31670430
Century is kind of crap level, no offense but i have heard of canter sights about a year or two ago on wasr but who knows how old the guns are. Also magazine wobble
But i am not a gun store owner
>>31670464
Non taken. I know Century builds crap guns, that's why I didn't buy one they built. I paid a little more and got one that was made in Romania by drunken gypsies and vampire hunters.
Mag wobble. Yeah, it kind of bugs me but I'm hoping my autism will just let it be. None of my other AK's do that, but they have those cute dimples.
>>31670430
listen to me, listen to me good.
>just because they work in/own a lgs, doesnt mean they know shit about specifics
im so serious anon, i live near tactical edge, they are getting up there on being known, they make their own rifles, they have a cnc shop and everything.
but holy fucking shit the guys that work in the shop are fucking retarded sometimes.
and a nasty girl works in there.
Alright, I want to get an AK, how do I not fuck this purchase up?
>>31670586
depending on price
wasr
DDI
Arsenal
>>31670625
What about the C39 by Century Arms?
>>31670479
The wobble magazine can be fixed by using tapco mags, the plastic is thicker and stops it. I have been told, never had a wasr personally
>>31670648
Don't do it. Century is shit, get an Arsenal or Definitive Arms.
>>31670430
Canted sights are a possibility with an AK that doesn't use tools to measure the alignment. Protip most companies don't do this, only custom manufacturers will do this and even then some can slip by. I think DA actually measures theirs and sights them in too.
>>31666842
what mags are those? Promags?
>>31670728
DDI's new stuff looks so sexy.
>>31670725
as long as it zeros its fine.
>>31670709
>>31670479
mag wobble is fine side to side. you do not want it to be up and down tho.
>>31666476
I agree, but Century fucked us.
>>31670983
>mag wobble is fine side to side. you do not want it to be up and down tho.
mfw I just checked my DDI and it has a little front to back wobble.
is that what you meant by up and down? or did you actually mean up and down?
>>31670430
Anybody? Is this actually an AK sling or is it as I suspected, a Mosin sling?
>>31671150
A little wobble isn't a problem. If it's been causing feeding issues, then it's a problem.
>>31671167
that be a mosin sling, will work fine tho.
>>31671174

>>31666840
Keep sks, save for ak.
why would you people buy AKs now that you can get ARs for 600? I understood the argument when AKs were half the price of ARs, but now you have no reason to buy a lesser platform.
>>31671914
You should. Find a nice laminate set, they pop up all the time on files. That would set it apart from your 104 better.
>>31671969
That's what we tell most of the people who come in here for buying advice.
>>31666840
She'll have the opportunity to "close the gun show loophole" and "no fly no buy!"
Honestly not that concerned in the short term. I just can't see her winning the house.
That's a nice SKS, the AK market is shit right now so it's not like you would gain much. We will see more imports before and AWB is passed.
>inb4 I live in WA
>I'm scared guis
>>31671979
that what i was thinking too. but mags and ammo first.
>>31671969

Do what these guys recommend
>>31670625
>>31670714
and provide your price range next time.
>>31671969
>Lesser platform
That's entirely subjective, as you well know. But you're right, AK's are so expensive that the only reason to buy one is if you specifically want an AK.
>>31671969
because AKs give me a psycho-sexual high that's priceless, my AR gives me pubescent insecurity
>>31672023
Sorry didnt mean to trigger you, but here are the facts:
AR is more accurate
AR has more aftermarket options
ARs have more manufactures
AR purchases do not help fund foreign nations
AKs are the sandnigger gun of the year 1947-present
AKs use stamped receivers
AKs are barely able to hit the side of a barn at 100 meters
AKs have strange import restrictions forcing you to buy from an shitty company that will be out of business in 5 years
>>31672023
because they are so bored with their shit rifles they must troll here.
>>31672079
>source or shit.
Like the other anon in this thread asking for purchase advice, I too, need suggestions. I want to buy another gun soon, and I'm have no idea what I want to get. I've already got an ak, handgun, and ar and made and so on for each. I'm juggling a wasr, makarov, Draco/pap, or cz-75 SP-01, but I don't really know what I want. What would you guys but from that list? Or would you get suffering else?
>>31672079
wtf I hate my AKs now?
>>31672104

My phone is dumb.
>>31672104

>>31672079
Sorry about this post. I did get a bit trolly, especially about AK accuracy. I realize they are actually pretty close to ARs.
My point still stands though, from a function, not form point of view- why would anyone buy an AK for 1200 over an AR for 1200?
>>31672121
were is your source for this information.?
get a ak in 5.45 then you will see.
>>31665797
When is Kalashnikov USA going to release their products?
>>31672104
Crap at all those typos, I hate mobile 4chan. Sorry for the autism guys. Hope you understand what I meant.
>>31672140
You mean an AK in a round that copied the 5.56, except that it is now illegal to import and costs significantly more than 5.56 ammo.
My point still stands...
>>31672150
>copied 5.56
just stop my man
>>31672158
So are you just going to ignore my question for a third time? Why would you pay 1200 for an AK instead of an AR for 1200?
>>31672079
Ok, I'll bite
>AR is more accurate
Yes, but the ak is accurate enough to be effective to the maximum range of the cartridge it uses
>AR has more aftermarket options
True, but how much more do you need than a light, foregrip, optic and ajustable stock? Lots of ar attachments are bretty useless
>ARs have more manufactures
In the US, yeah. There are shit tons of companies that make/made aks around the world
>AR purchases do not help fund foreign nations
Implying
>AKs are the sandnigger gun of the year 1947-present
The man covered in shit argument isn't a good reason to not own something.
>AKs use stamped receivers
This is bad? There are milled options available too if you like that meme
>AKs are barely able to hit the side of a barn at 100 meters
Fucking nogunz leave
>AKs have strange import restrictions forcing you to buy from an shitty company that will be out of business in 5 years
Like century? Their domestic production is shit, but their imports aren't going anywhere
>>31672121
Concealability? I't take an sbr'd ak over an sbr'd ar any day
>>31672079
>AR is more accurate
Your trolling sucks balls. This accuracy debate has been going on for years and is pretty much meaningless in the types of combat which most of the rifles are used for. Both were used as suppressive fire to keep the enemy down so he could be flanked.
>AR has more aftermarket options
And most of them are useless mall ninja shit so you can get kiked out of your money.
>ARs have more manufactures
What does this mean in terms of benefit?
>AR purchases do not help fund foreign nations
You sound like a fucking fudd or a boomer. I want a particular type of weapon and I don't care who profits from it, neither should you.
>AKs are the sandnigger gun of the year 1947-present
Disregarded.
>AKs use stamped receivers
Your ignorance is showing. Tell me H&K is shit next.
>AKs are barely able to hit the side of a barn at 100 meters
With you shooting?
>AKs have strange import restrictions forcing you to buy from an shitty company that will be out of business in 5 years
I don't care about who imports it, I care about the manufacturer/country of origin and how many original components have been retained after arriving here. Neither do most people.
4/10, I replied. Now please fuck off to /arg/.
>>31672121

alright captain faggot, I already said I was trolling a bit with that post, but we both know the actual facts.
>accuracy
You can skirt this argument by saying its 'meaningless' but is it, or is it not true that the average AR is more accurate than the average AK?
>aftermarket support
So once again, you agree I'm right, you just don't care and say that its mall ninja shit. Right, being able to swap from a 14.5 inch barrel to a 22 inch barrel is horrible. So is being able to change the pistol grip and stock to how I want it to feel. So is being able to change to a compensator that can QD a suppressor, etc.
>AR purchases do not help fund foreign nations
So you would rather give your money to a syrian refuge living in Georgia, than an American machinist? You must shop at walmart a lot.
AKs use stamped receivers
This is a fact. Are you going to pretend that stamped is better than forged? I'm not saying stamped is actually bad, just that forged is better.
>AKs have strange import restrictions forcing you to buy from an shitty company that will be out of business in 5 years
Really you trust Century? or Waffen Werks (sorry meant to say DDI), IO, etc? You have maybe one or two good options, counting Arsenal- whereas with ARs I can buy from any of hundreds of manufacturers, with most having proven track records and longevity in the brand.
>>31672219
Nither, I'd rather SBR an AR-15 lower so I can swap on a .300 blk upper (that has concentric threads for a suppressor).

Rusmilitary? Only way you'll know is after he charges you. I ordered some handguards from him a while back and ended up paying about $20 more than I thought I would have after conversion and taking a wild guess at postage. They're some sweet ass handguards though, in perfect shape and I doubt they were ever even fitted to a rifle before being put into storage.
Another upside is that he doesn't really ever seem to get fucked by US customs, which is good for you if you're buying mags.
How do you guys keep your AKs 922r compliant?
Or do you just not give a shit?
I have to buy a US made handguard if I want to keep my parts count low and I can't decide if I should just get an Arsenal copy or get magpul shit so I can stick an AFG and light on it.
I think quad-rails look like shit and I'm not spending a hundred bucks on that.

Serbian AKs are not the high standard of craftsmanship you might think.
APEX just sold a lot of demilled npaps and there are reports that the receiver sections can be bent by hand. There are pictures of some bubba-tier barrel pin jobs from that lot as well.
My n-pap has rust blooming from under the scope rail.
Friend has an m92 that is all kinds of canted. Dust cover fit is iffy because the hinge block is canted, front sight is canted the other way. It's a mess.
I love the yugo models, probably have more kits/builds from there than any other country (maybe 7?) but the pap series are very underwhelming in build quality imo.

>>31674551
Let's break this down from a fundamental standpoint.
Let's say you do assemble your rifle and it's not 922r compliant, here's some questions about your situation that should be asked:
>Who is going to check your rifle to see if you're compliant?
Nobody, especially if you aren't arrested on gun related charges with that particular rifle.
>Have you EVER heard of that occurring?
I'm guessing not
>Do you know how many people have been convicted on 922r charges (without it being a charge tacked on to a more serious charge)?
0
>How will anyone prove where your parts are made?
Just because it doesn't say "US" doesn't mean it wasn't made here, and it's up to them to prove that it wasn't made here (pro tip, they can't)
Are the RAS 47s any good from century?

>>31674818

>>31674845
>Just read the thread. There's a video explaining exactly what's wrong.
I've seen the video, the peening doesnt make any sense unless he's pulling the trigger faster than it can cycle, often. Once again, they have sold almost 30,000 RAS-47s, and only 7 have been returned.
