That was an issue early 605's had, because they had a rifle length gas with a 16" barrel they were kinda spotty on reliability. Most dissipators now use a short gas length and longer sight radius.

Dwell time is the time between when the bullet passes the gas port and exits the muzzle. The longer the time, the higher the pressure. Thus, by cutting the barrel and leaving the gas length, you are shortening the dwell time because the barrel is shorter from the muzzle to the gas port.

Barrels with less dwell time will need a larger gas port. Barrels with more dwell time will need smaller gas port.

ive got a 5.56 can that should work for it but i have to check bullet stability before i decide to shoot 25-06 through it the gas block is exposed because its adjustable due to the variety of both factory and hand loads to the system as appropriately gassed also its a side charger. Im no sniper but im avaraging 1 to 1.5 inch groups with it, the goal for this rifle is for hunting and the 25-06 will kill anything that moves in Texas inside 400 yards and it pretty flat shooting. If i hand load for it i could get it out too a 1000 yards on paper but with normal ammo im maxing out at around 600-800 before the wind really starts abusing that round.

117GR BTSP hornady whitetail shoots good out of it . I'm going to be sourcing some heavier solid copper bullet for it in the next couple of months though. what sucks with the rifle is that it comes stock with a GI trigger which is serviceable but a nice two stage would help which will be replaces soon.

Drop out of sight. It's a dedicated IWB. If you're wanting something use able with molle, I'd get one of the OWB holsters for sure. They have really good retention and reholster really easily. I've been using mine for about 8 months without issue. If it's light bearing, you can actually fit other guns with the same light in it occasionally. I use mine for my Operator and M&P with the TLR-1

I would agree that some bolt carriers need some attention, Palmetto ones seem 5 times coarser than a Colt, but won't agree on cold blueing wear areas, because those are the bearing surfaces of the bolt and they only need whatever lube you use on the rifle.

Thanks, I know at some point itll get a red dot. I was liking the look of the GG&G short grip, my beef with the KAC is how slim it is. Even in gloves if feels too narrow, and its not like I've got big hands. Now I just to sort out if I should get the SOPMOD or Bravo stock. With the light my rifle is already heavy, I dont know if adding batteries in the stock will balance the front end heft or if the additional weight will just make it feel heavier all around. the sources i have with the ATF are now wanting everything typed and submitted in PDF format along with sending in the passport phots and fingerprint cards in the mail. two weeks ago they gave us packets they want us to fill out and submit. we talk to compliance and we get a different response from each person we talk too when it comes to submitting forum 1s and 4s under the new rule set they aren't difficult to fill out whats a pain is submitting it in a way the ATF will accept so you don't have the forum kicked back and have to wait another year.

Just came back in from a range session. I did some reload drills today and ran into an issue with my pistol. I had multiple repeated failures to lock back after shooting the last round.

I got concerned that my pistol was the problem, so I grabbed one of every magazine type I had and shot one round out of each, three times.

To my releif, they all locked back. I tried the mags that failed before, and busted out all my others of the same maketo see if it was a fluke. Every single one failed to lock back.

The offending mags are in my ammo box. The ones that functioned fine are sitting outside and one is in my AR.

Who wants to guess the brand that failed me?
