If you really wanted to get rid of the things what i would do is build a trap and catch a female in heat and put her in it as bait, have like 2 doors separated so you can lock her in one small side then a door that lets them in but not out on the other side leave it out for a night or so then pick it up and drop it off like 100+ miles away and let them go

Growing up my household was a dog household
My dad had a great dislike for cats, only talked about how a good cat was a dead one, etc. Had dogs all my life, grew up around them and love them to this day.

Then one day my roommate took in a pregnant stray so the babies wouldn't be born in the freezing ass cold and die. We figured we'd set them on their way in spring. Oh how wrong we were. I absolutely love cats and, like you said, am obsessed with them. I don't know what it is but they're my favorite animal and I could be around them all day long. Granted, I still like dogs but I'd rather have 100 cats

Okay, fine, I'll give a serious answer. Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is really the only option short of killing them. I may hate feral cat colonies, but the animals aren't doing anything wrong, and unless they are suffering, they shouldn't be killed. Here's a link to how to do proper TNR:

If my understanding of cat sociology is correct, they aren't going to learn en mass to avoid the trap, each individual would have to learn on their own. Just have a large number of trap stations set up across the island, an army of volunteers, and deprive the cats of other food sources. Be sure to acclimate them to the traps and food for a few days beforehand.

A couple things. A lot of anti freeze is now safe so people and animals don't die using it.

Instead use some cheapo pie tins and fill em up with buttermilk and a little bit of whip cream and use fly bait in em.

Also you can find or make a repeating falling floor trap for the oversized rats. ITs pretty basic, a box with the top having a door that falls when enough weight is applied and returns quickly. Take a can of tuna and cut some holes in it and put a big screw through it into the floor. The rats will post up and try to get to it and fall down with the rest of the rats.

Alternatively depending on whether you buy or make the trap you can put a tin of poison down there so they shut the fuck and die, or if its made of metal drown them, or just leave them in there to attract more cats and let them kill each other.
