Guns can vacations and travel when school isn't in session as well, though using themselves is not kosher around normal humans (ex. HK-33). Then again, it should also be noted that M16 tends to go to movie shoots

Yep. Most writefags though have different headcannon to how raifus/geists work.

It's my preference to think they are incredibly rare things; either forming after decades of existence or by the shear response to intense emotional connection some people put into their firearms. They're more of a super natural thing, and something that can't be artificially made or understood.

It's what makes them special.

It also allows more wiggleroom in terms of writing, as they can pop up in any gun at any time. It also avoids the issue of the author trying to write around a world where geists are known and common. It's easier to pop them into our commonly understood world as they are much rarer but also more supernatural.

Again, just my opinion in how I write my stories.
