reposting from last thread
Just got my first AK in a trade, I took the FCG apart and it went pretty smooth, but the pin retainer spring is being a son of a bitch, I went ahead and ordered a krebs plate
my front sight also won't move, it goes up and down but the slider isn't working, does it normally work?
also the muzzle brake is slightly loose.
lmfao

They are both solid, I prefer the Draco for the reasons mentioned but I also couldn't decide between an underfolder or a standard AKM rear trunnion for the draco so I got two. An M92 only looks right with an underfolder IMO.

The M92 does have that classic krink look which is nice.

I very highly doubt there are any Russian surplus 74s in Africa, unless maybe after the Soviet war in Afghanistan some captured 74s by the Afghans made their way around but even if that's the case it's such a teeny tiny minuscule number

I'm not aware of any cases of FAL vs AK74 so that's why I'm asking.

like the other guy said, it depends.
if your spring is shaped like this, then this is how it goes.
if it isn't this style, then maybe post a pic of your spring and someone here will know how it goes.
or just get a retainer plate. they are superior to the springs.

That is suspiciously capitalist sounding of you, tovarisch

They needed the mudhole filled quickly and they used what they had on hand. Honestly it probably worked fairly well. It would be a waste of money to use pavement for a mudhole, best thing probably would have been to cover it with gravel or something. Also it's worth pointing out that someone found it funny enough to take a picture of, which carries a light implication that what they did was unusual even by their standards.

What do the psak's go for? Both times I've checked the website they are OOS and have no price listed.

Not him, but wasrs only have a parkerized finish as opposed to a paint over parkerization that other AK's have. If you refinish your wasr you can get a really deep shade of black that imho looks far better than the standard parkerized gray.

I've been checking daily for several months and it's always OOS.

Having a budget sucks, I'm considering selling some of my black (10)s for some true black Izhmash mags because I have more black (10)s than any other 74 mag (around a dozen and a half or so (10)s) while I only have two true black Izhmash mags. They're not even that expensive compared to other 5.45 mags at around $45 or so a piece for ones that aren't all beat up, but I hate spending money.

Just got my first AK a few weeks ago, Yugo M70.

What's the deal on the full auto trigger kits? I've seen a few online for about $50. Some let you know they're missing a part or two, others say they're the full group. All of them say they're for novelty and not to be installed.

I have some understanding of the legalities, not looking for comments on that. Just by owning the trigger group and a matching firearm to potentially install into is a no-no even if you don't install it.

Anybody have experience with them? Do they give you 3 selection stops or does it just become safe & auto?
>>
>>31548894
Not for that one
>>
>>31544302

noice combo anon
>>
>>31548918
the reason it's legal to own the FA trigger group and an AK is that the FA trigger group can't be installed into the AK without first modifying the AK. modifying the AK would be constructive intent, or some shit, and therefore be time for federal pound me in the ass prison.
>>
>>31548894
I'm sure somebody probably will but I certainly wouldn't for a refurb. I think the most expensive SKS I've ever seen sell was a flawless Izhevsk for $2000. Either that or a type 63 with bringback papers.

>>
>>31550224
online has better prices
the procedure is to purchase the gun online, and then have it shipped to a local gun dealer
that dealer will charge you a fee (usually $20-$40) and then transfer the gun to you after a background check and paperwork
if you buy online, you'll need to let whatever dealer that you're having it shipped to know, and possibly have them fax info to the online retailer
ship around, find out what shops have the lowest transfer fees
>>
>>31550130
What do you mean "nothing we can do".

Pro tip for finding mags elsewhere: pick a country that usually has the mags you're looking for. Open google specific to that country. Use translator to search for "ak47 magazine" in local language. Send some emails to see if they will ship you some. EZ cheap mags.

Assault Weapons of Ohio converted some MG13 8mm mags
http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?220057-AWO-Yugo-m76-27-round-magazine-review

they don't have em listed on their website anymore though, so good luck finding em on the secondary market

I'd look at other 8mm mags to convert rather than try with .308 mags

You may have to smooth yours out on the internals because some do have problems with cycling, but mine has been 100% reliable with Tula ammunition, swap out that garbage ass, Hungarian ass, sheet metal ass, inverted fore grip and handguard though, it makes 30 round mags your enemy.

Could be, but it has all the usual tells of an airsoft AK. The pistol grip has the weird profile that I always see on airsoft AKs. And the stock latch button has the center hole actually filled in, another airsoft thing. Same funny looking pistol grip as in this picture. The whole thing just screams airsoft.

Nah, just thin compared to other steel mags, I'll take a Korean mag over polymer mags any day, the obvious exception being those expensive bakelite bastards. I would recommend getting Polish steel mags from Aim Surplus though, right now they're on sale for about $11 a piece and that's about the same price as buying a Korean mag in an LGS.

I got two thousand rounds of wolf 69 ammo to feed it.

I've got one and I say it's most definitely not worth the money. I'm lucky I got mine pretty cheap compared to what they're worth, but overall it's not really worth it. It's heavy, extends way too far (further than FAL buttstocks, which you use as a reference in another post), you can't use iron sights with it because there's damn near no way to get your cheek low enough, and is overly-complicated. Put it this way: there's a reason they attempted to discontinue it for the PT-3.

unless youre paying $2500 for a ft knox or similar quality safe, it really makes no difference as long as it looks solid and is bolted to the ground. that said, if you want a safe cheaper than $400, its going to be small and look more like a locker.

And rail

I feel like it's going to be the rail, since the only indication I could find were two customer answers saying it was picatinny.

223, 308, and 7,62 all the calibers you will ever need. Cheap and plenty here.

Also i think the 200-400€ x39 AKs, 500€ metric FN FALs, 350-500€ vz 58s and the variety of Sako and Valmet rifles will change your caliber preferences.

There's not enough wiggle room. Trying to pop the second side in will pop the first side out. I suppose that other Anon was right, I probably shouldn't have been a jew when purchasing the rail.

The optic fits on my PS90 with zero issues, so I know with no doubt that it's the rail. Guess I'll hit up the seller.
