I live in Canuckistan where we can get inexpensive Chinese made AR15s. It's incredibly rough around the edges, but all 80 rounds I've put through it have gone bang, so I'm somewhat content.
Really, I should have just been more patient, and built an AR or something for a bit more, in fact I plan to do just that at some point in the future.

I like my M&P. I've put around 2500-3000 rounds through it in about a year with no issues even with a Promag I got for cheap. It's been my carry gun since I bought it and conceals well under a T-Shirt in my Alien Gear holster. I'd definitely pick one up if they fit your hand well. Try out all the back straps I'd you can. Abolishing the entire bill of rights would make the jobs of law enforcement easier. With no limit to police powers, criminality could be easily dealt with. Is that really the position you want to take?
Why should anyone else care about the 3nd as I'm sure you do if you're so willing to violate the 4th? Also I sincerely doubt you can show me evidence that it does work. How many 'random' searches does it take to find someone illegally carrying (hopefully you aren't one of those "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" types because the cognitive dissonance of simultaneously supporting for yourself and denying to others the natural right of unlicensed carry would destroy you)? How many people aren't armed do they search before they find one that is? If it takes 99 fruitless (and illegal) searches before they find 1 person illegally carrying then how would it be a success?
>>31539815
I've got around 1000 through mine and the handguard has no play in it. It also hasn't shifted, twisted, etc. I'd like to do a carbine class with it and test it out. I do drills with it at my house during shooting sessions and work on a lot of transitions from standing to supine and back. It's rode in the back of my jeep and a 4x4 on my farm and bounced all over. One of goats also tried to steal it once. So it's been pretty sturdy thus far.

You give me a little faith but I'm still a little worried. The MI rail is more in my price range than the KAC or SLR rails. The saved $100 could easily go towards a PRO or a light.

I'm not gonna try to sell you on it. The biggest detractors from it are that it's not Gucci. It's secure enough without the loctite stuff, but it's added security on the barrel nut. It's one of the slimmer, lighter free float rails I've messed with and it comes in Keymod and M-LOK models. It's also economically priced. There are much more Gucci rails on the market, but there's nothing objectively wrong with the MI stuff if properly installed.

Godspeed
Thoughts on mine? First time posting it and it's my first ar.
Results are finally in from my range day. The most vexing thing to me is pic related. Two groups, fired by the same barrel, within minutes of each other, with two types of wolf at 50 yards. The tape squares are about 2"x2" for reference. I fired four other groups before this, with XM193, Wolf Gold, and a couple types of PPU. The Wolf Gold nearly tore a single ragged hole.
I cannot account for all these crazy keyholes at such close range. Barrel is 20" SS, 1-8 twist, 5.56 chamber.
Any theories?
>>31540239
The optic choices are disgusting, and I don't like AFGs or SS barrels, but other than that alright/10. I doubt the rest of /arg/ will be as...forgiving, as I am, however.

16 round mags so they got stolen by buds, have some being routed in this week.

Dont do this
FDE is really growing on me.
I got a deal I couldn't turn down on a LaRue flip to side PVS-14 mount, so I got it for shiggles.
At the very least, my PVS-14 is now protected by a pelican case with the rifle.
need sling and mounting recommendations for pic related.

>>31540361
Pretty sure it isn't the crown, like I said this literally only happens with the wolf 55grn. Crown damage would cause variance on more types of ammo.

No, it was installed with loctite.
5 or 6 mag dumps got it hot enough for the glue to let go.

>>31540453
I ditched it as soon as it failed.
I had PSA swap it for an SQR rail. It's heavier, but solid as fuck.
>>31540435
Hypothetically, if it was a crown issue, would it seriously do this to one kind of 55grn ammo while allowing me to pile several of another type practically into the same hole?
Shit just doesn't add up man.

None of my MI rails are even glued at all. They fit fine. The adhesive is a suggestion in the instructions, not an order. I glued my first rail the first time but when I took it off again I was dismayed by what it did to the barrel nut, so I said never again.
>>31540477

I'm kind of thinking that could be it, barring any other better explanations. It's still wild though that 4 of 5 rounds in ONE GROUP would be that fucked up, and the rest would be fine.
Part of me thought that it might be some kind of strange stabilization anomaly caused by the combo of twist rate, barrel length, wind, and sweat on my finger giving the gun a chill.
Or maybe the rounds were just overly excited.

"What is it like to fire an AR-15? It’s horrifying, menacing and very very loud.
It felt to me like a bazooka — and sounded like a cannon.
But mostly, I was just terrified.
Squeeze lightly on the trigger and the resulting explosion of firepower is humbling and deafening (even with ear protection).
The recoil bruised my shoulder, which can happen if you don't know what you're doing. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary form of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable."

I'm certainly not voting Clinton. I'm considering this vote trade thing where I vote Trump in Colorado in turn for someone in a non-swing red state voting Johnson. I don't want a Hillary presidency, but I also what the third party to make a showing in the popular vote.
Strictly on the issues I support Trump more than Gary Johnson, but on party lines and in terms of the larger political climate I see a dire need for this country to diversify its political choices.
We've all seen the Ben Garrison "Left, Right, Left Right" cartoon.

To get things back on the topic of ARs, do you guys make checklists for new builds? Like say you have a "trigger" row, and then next to it you fill in what trigger you are getting, and maybe the price. I just want a list so I can buy everything at once to break the pattern of new trips posting a new part every month.

If it wasn't already made clear by the other coloradoans, the mag ban is not nearly as big of a deal as people make it out to be. If anything it is doing a decent job of preventing other legislation from going through, as the libs are pacified, and the legislatures are scared to put new ones through because the ones that pushed the mag ban got recalled hard.

If the 15th-16th is on a weekend I probably can't make it, I work weekends since I have class during the week.

It's a decent range, I didn't know that second part, I think GGs longest is 300, which really isn't that long considering it's in the middle of the plains.
