Creepily enough, a lot of the non-truckers with CB's are prostitutes, sexual perverts, fags since for some reason gay people really wana fug smelly fat truckers, drug dealers and people whom are in the human slave trade, which is actually huge atm in the US, but ppl don't talk about it. I always get suspicious seeing campers coming into truck parking areas since a lot of human trafficers use them as human cattle movers. Recently a group of children that had been kidnapped were discovered by a trucker on the road reporting it anonymously to the FBI or sheriff or someone in charge.

I have seen and noticed a lot of fucked up things whilst driving on the road, and I can see now why the cops are so harsh on them.

But, I have some crazy fkin stories, weird ass shit goes on at truck stops, not way sides, but truck stops, fucking creepy shit. I am always glad when I see a cop driving in to check shit out. Makes me feel safer.

Once I was parked at a Menards after I was done unloading, didn't have time to get to a truck stop and while I was asleep, someone tried breaking it. Thankfully I had one of those hand axes and a nasty ass tire thumper that was basically a hammer/crowbar/nail pull combo next to me.

Driving last winter through Iowa on some back roads between hwy 30 and 20 trying to get back onto 80 West so I can get back home. Snow storm just blew out of nowhere, began to make white out conditions, I could no longer see the road, I was going 15 mph and my wheels were going back and forth sliding. I go down to 5 mphs, trying to get to the nearest safe haven, or gas station to park and stop.

Come up to cop whom is stopping ppl and directing traffic at some back roads farmer bumpkin intersection. Asks me why I was out there, said I got caught out here and trying to get to safe haven, tells me alright and wishs me luck and to be safe out there, tell him to stay warm and be safe as well. Snow is worse on even ahead. There are ditches on each side of the road that are now just even with the road, I can barely notice the road anymore. The cars behind me that were getting stopped and let through freaking going 70 to 90 mph, with literal NO road visibility, I am nearly full loaded (thank god) which helped with the traction. They are literally swerving left and right past me, like sliding. Trucks have a speed radar on the front of the nose of the truck. One car was going 95 mph, and fking spinned out infront of me into the ditch, I crawl on over at still 5mph and get out, to help them. It was a goddamn old ass lady. I ask if she needed help, she says no, this happens every year to her, wtf. Cop from earlier comes by and asks if everything is alright, I tell him what I witnessed, he thanks me, both for assiting her and being safe. Tells me God Speed, at a snails pace.

Oregonfag here. When a cop pulls you over it's always a few minutes before they actually approach your vehicle. I just grab my CC along with my license and hand it to them while keeping both hands on the wheel.

A lot of this younger generation of cops are fresh from Iraq and the Afghanistan wars where it was shoot first ask questions later. If you didn't find a gun you'd just toss one in the back seat and call it at that. They see everyone as a potential threat and haven't unlearned that training and most likely never will.

Personally I think veterans should all be banned from being police officers. The ones I know even after months and years back are hyper aggressive and don't make me want to be around them. I'll add here maybe the ones I know are an exception but if even a third of them are like this I don't want them patrolling my neighborhood.

A General Duties cop might do 50 vehicle or pedestrian intercepts every day in the main crew. Every intercept in a country where people have guns is a high risk activity. That alone makes it a fucking dangerous job.
Old mate driving the car is not the registered owner and he has warrants out for his arrest, he's got a gun maybe. Those sort of worst case scenarios are constantly on cop's minds and for good reason. Yet despite all those high risk interactions the profession has better survivability statistics than taxi drivers?
