The mags you get are not issued by armorers, they are issued by the unit supply to each individual solider. The soldier is responsible for keeping them after that point. The only accountability there is for them is "do you have 7 magazines?" And that's it. Exchanging the bad ones is simply curb stomping it and turning it into supply.

I number my personal mags and none of my issued ones. It makes it easier accounting for your stuff.

Also, what get? The SFMB seems nice, reduces recoild, and is more aesthetic. But with the Warden I'm not trying to throw fireballs. Especially since most of my shooting during the fall and winter is at or after dusk so I'm kind of leaning toward the SF3P right now.
>>
Thinking about going quiet with my AR. What do you guys recommend for muzzle devices? Not too worried about price looking for best performance. Also using a 16" barrel DI AR non adjustable gas block. Probably run the raptor bone charging handle.
>>
>>31489033
For quiet? A suppressor. For a less concussive muzzle flash, then get a flash hider, not a brake or comp.

>>31489042
Yeah I'm asking what brands do you guys have and recommend. For audible reduction.
>>
>>31489025
Depends on build and whether or not you're actually going to get a suppressor.

If you're not getting one any time soon or you have an SBR/pistol, get the flash hider.

If you're absolutely 100% getting a suppressor, or you have a 16" barrel, get a muzzle brake. The brakes are recommended for suppressors because they act as a secondary baffle with the can mounted.

SF3P will reduce flash better for a short barrel and Warden doesn't give a shit about it.
>>
>>31489071
16" and suppressor someday but I'm not in a big rush. I just don't want to be blinded by my own muzzle flash.
>>
>>31489085
Get SF3P now then, it will accomplish more of what you want to do. You will have about 9 months to source an SFMB once you put money on a can.
>>
>>31489102
Yeah, that's kind of where I'm leaning right now. I know the SFMB is more aesthetic, but for what I want it seems to serve more purpose.

Do able it will be pushing your budget but do able. Maybe hold out until Columbus Day and see if PSA will have a sale going on. See if someone in your family can buy the lower for you and gift it to you. I don't know what your state laws are about that but look into it. Milling an 80% is more hassle than it's worth as opposed to buying a stripped forged lower.

She didn't cheat, but I lost faith and she was being secretive so I still know its better that it ended. We're both seeing different people now and she seems happy, that's what's important.

You can get a complete Aero middy for $579 off Brownells right now if you're willing to spend slightly more in order to do slightly less.

That said, feasible, but as mentioned, the tool cost will probably put you in the same ballpark or higher.

That would be a good call, my dad bought me a pistol as a gift when I was 18 and in Arkansas you can gift your child a hand gun so check state laws and find out. Because Anderson lowers go for about 75 at decent gun stores and that gives you roughly 400 to play with to build the rest of it. I understand you are on a limited budget but steer clear of PTAC the next line up is the freedom series which isn't too bad from what ive heard. Check out Ak operators Union on YouTube if you haven't already they have tested some PSA rifles and you can get an idea about the longevity of them from there. Best of luck in your build.

I'm building an AK and planning to do a slight refresh on my AR upper once I'm done with it. Right now I'm running a 16" Gov profile barrel with a DD Omega 9.0 and an A2 FSB.

What are some good options for lightweight 12-13" rails to replace this setup with and drop some weight off the front end? I don't want to rebarrel just yet, but I'll probably be swapping out the gas block instead of just cutting down the FSB. Currently I'm looking at the MI 13" M-LOK Gen 3, the Bootleg Picmod 13", the Geissele SMR Mk. 8 M-LOK, the Manticore Arms Transformer Rail, and possibly whatever equivalent rail Centurion Arms currently has. As much as I like keymod, right now all of my accessories are picatinny or M-LOK, so I'd prefer to stick with those options.

Shitty photo, but the most recent I have.

the SF3P is a bit cooler looking and doesnt increase noise much but it does sound like a tuning fork after every shot.

SFMB is fucking loud and the concussion is tremendous, but it mitigates recoil very well. I think the warden + SFMB is a better pairing than the SF3P

Leon, I'm being nice when I say this is not the place to receive validation. Start a blog or talk to a counselor if you actually want to talk about this stuff.

Because A) this is the wrong way to be cathartic about it because you won't get any constructive feedback
B) it's super off topic. There's not even a picture of an AR in your blogpost.

Go find someone to talk to, but an anonymous image board devoted to gun culture is not the place to do it. I seriously hope you find an outlet and whatever help you need.

>I think the warden + SFMB is a better pairing than the SF3P

I know, I just would rather have the SF3P for it's flash hiding capabilities. I'd take a WarComp if I could find out more about claims of accuracy loss.

That said, as a tuning fork, I can't imagine the SF3P is any worse than the BE Meyers 249F I used to have on my old upper.

How's the weight relative to other rails? I know the Omega I have is around 9 oz, but then I have to factor in the weight of the stock barrel nut, retaining cap, and delta ring in addition to the FSB, which I think puts it closer to 16-17 oz (1.5 barrel nut, 5.2 for FSB, probably another couple of ounces for everything else).

Part of the reason I've held off on swapping rails for so long is because only the BCM KMR seemed to give noticeable weight savings compared to the Omega until recently, and even then I put a hold on making a decision until keymod or M-LOK started to come out as a dominant platform (then I bought a Scorpion carbine so I got stuck with M-LOK anyway)

So, the AK is less work to clean and cheaper to shoot and more powerful.
Except for shooting bulls eyes past 100 yards, I think I like the AK better.
The AR is lighter to carry around though, especially compared to milled receiver AKs.

Never been into the whole debate between the 2 but if you shoot at all regularly, the easier to clean thing is pretty damn nice as is the cheaper ammo.

Crunching the numbers that brings it down to about 12 oz on a 12" M-LOK rail (9 + 1.5 for gas block + 1.5 for the front sight). 5-6 oz loss is not bad at all, even though I'll probably put it right back on attaching an aluminum rail section and my HSP light setup. Kinda new to rifles and have about 800 rounds through a BCM 16" I bought a while ago. On occasion while shooting the bolt does not fully go into battery. I can see the bolt's lugs just about to reach the star chamber so when I pull the charging handle back and let it go the bolt will go in fully. This has happened maybe ~5x so pretty infrequent when the total number of rounds is 800. I've been shooting M193 5.56 btw.

However I think this may be due to me not lubricating enough. I usually coat the cam pin, the bolt's exterior ring and gas rings, and the BCG's slide rails. I checked ar15's lubrication points and found that I should be dropping oil on the ejector and the bolt's lugs themselves. Could this explain the few hangups I've had?

take the buffer and spring out and make sure there arent any abnormalities, or that anything is fouled up in there. might need to clean buffer tube. if the bolt is failing to seat it would probably be hanging up on something, or there isnt enough spring tension to push it into battery.

with an optic that big this isnt noteworthy, it should be assumed
>>

you know that rail retails for 1500 right?
>>
>>31491172
it has a bigger aperture then the PRO, which is notably larger
>>
>>31491199
No, it does not retail for $1500, it brings upto $1500 at auction and that is only for nib.
He bought that rail with an upper so it cost ~$450 and if he was to sell it, he would get a max of $500 and realistically $400-450
>>
>>31491235
PRO has a tiny aperture. Compare it to MRO--sounds like you're getting a similar FOV in a significantly smaller optic.

Hi guys

For the HK spergs out there

HK45CT or 1911 ?

I kinda want a 1911 back, but I'd have to let go my HK45CT which I don't really get along with. Also I can't get more than the two mags it came with and it's starting to piss me off.

Don't you read hkbro ? I can't get more than the two mags it came with because the HK importer is a retard.

That's bizarre, bro. I live in sweaty ass Florida and my Hk45 mags have been rust free. I'm admittedly ignorant to French gun laws: are there limits to how many handguns you may have? Regardless, if the HK45CT doesn't agree with you, get the 1911.
>>
>>31492044
I like it pretty much. But two mags for a handgun is a no go for me.

I can't have more than 12 semi-auto funs. Personnaly I can't afford to have more than 4 with all the mags and ammo currently, but four well equiped.

So I have the budget for my HK mags, but can't find any gun shop to find those. Even the USPc mags are fucking hard to get. And yeah, this rust on a mag that only has seen one day in a pocket, well, kinda feels like a meme. HK customer service is pretty much non-existent also here in France.

I'm okay with that with the USP because...Well it's a USP. Also I had the patience to get all the mags, find some spare parts and all.

For a second gun ? Come on, it's 2016, I can get my hands on a KAC or a Noveske, but I can't get any spare parts for my HK ?
