The music and set design is great, it's just that it's painfully obvious where Paramount forced Mann to make cuts. Like how the Captain goes being fairly calm and collected about what could be inside the keep to being almost hysterical when the SS arrives. You just know something is missing there because it's such an abrupt change. I imagine that there were some really awesome Nazis-vs-the-demon battles filmed that got cut.

Same goes for Glaken and Eva's romance, and the final battle/ending.
