I went with the DD Slim. Ordered the DD Lite II first but they were too bulky for me. The DD Lite III/DDM4 are much slimmer though.

Rather new to the AR since I'm mostly an antique collector, but my father got a Firefield close combat 1x22 micro dot from a buddy of his for it.
The AR has the pretty standard tall triangle front sight and the popup rear sight peephole on the rail. Trying out the micro dot, I can't get a good picture or focus when looking through it. As in, I can barely see the dot unless I put my head directly behind the entire rifle.
Do I need some sort of riser for it, or do I need to do something else?

Took my new qt to the range today and gave the new bolt & chamber some exercise and then got the MBUS and dot sighted in. Runs really nice no malfunctions or anything but it's definitely ejecting hard. I stopped by a gun shop on the way home and bought an H2 buffer, I was shooting it with a standard carbine buffer this morning.

The K2 doesn't have a water resistant compartment either, I don't know what you're on about. It has the same insert the MOE grips use. If you submerge either grip or splash a significant amount of water on either, water will get inside both. The BCM is rubberized and will probably slow down leakage faster than the Magpul.

I'm planning on building an XM4-gery and want to know if the XM4 carbine used an M4 or M4A1 barrel? I know about the experimental A2 short barrels, but most pictures of XM4s I've seen have the 203 cut forward of the FSB, but I can't find a picture of an XM4 without handguards.

Best lower to get for a retro build without stupid rollmarks and logos all over it?

You will need a cowitness mount.
If it's your AR, I would suggest keeping it on whenever your dad might see it, and when you guys go to the range. Tell him how much you like it. Don't spend too much on the mount. Take it off when you're not around him, because it is a very cheap red dot. One of my friends has one for an airsoft rifle of his and I have him shit for it after he shot my AR with my $200 red dot.
If it's his AR then he will need a cowitness mount, and he will do with the dot what he pleases.

Had the scope on another gun that I traded. Didn't really want to put it on anything else. Saw a carry handle scope mount on amazon for $10... Ordered it and now I just don't want to take it off. I just went with the unpadded regular one and bought two separate qd swivels. It looks like the regular sling can become a qd sling, but the qd sling cannot become a regular one.

Is there any difference between the standard Colt 6920 and the "Colorado Compliant" 6920 aside from the neutered magazine? Looking to get a 6920 from Bud's but they only have the CO compliant version. If it's just the baby magazine then I'm fine with that.

Hey guys. Looking to buy my first AR very soon (next week or so) as I am afraid prices will shoot up or everything will be sold out the closer we get to election day. I have a budget of $500 to $600. I've been looking at the dpms oracle, the del-ton lite, the ati omni (worried about that weak metal looking buffer insert), or building (assembling) my own using complete anderson/psa/etc lower and complete upper whatever with barrel, bcg, and charging handle. What do you guys reccomend? (Tbh I almost shelled out $700 for a RAS47 but was told last second ARs are the way to go and 5.56/.223 is cheaper than 7.62x39 and I'm a budget shooter)

2.) If you want to customized, AR's are easier to do.

If you want a good quality AR in that range though, get an Anderson lower for $60 and a Del-Ton assembly for like $500, then get a Vortex optic and call it a day.

Milling is what you do to an 80% complete lower. Get a PSA lower (finished, can take a trigger group, FFL transfer required) get a lower build kit (also from PSA) you can put it together with a few punches, channel locks, and an armorer's wrench.
