Crown Vics are ok, they tend to come in two flavors. Nice or completely clapped out. I would generally avoid them unless you find a really good example.

I like it. Funny-ish story. When I bought it, I was at a gun show looking for a Glock 19. One table had OD Glocks for about $50 more than a table that had sold out of Glocks in OD. So I asked the table that still had their OD frames of they would price match another table, to which the guy running it said, "Sure! Just show me where they are and I'll match it for you."
I explained that they had sold out of the OD frames, but still had FDE, Grey, Tan, etc. He told me he couldn't price match since they were sold out even though they still had Glock 23s (basically the same as a 19, I pointed out) with OD frames for cheaper than him also. He told me he still couldn't match me. So I bought the M&P for about $100 less than a Glock 19 at a different table.

TLDR: some gun show merchants are dickheads who look for any excuse to not to abide by their own policies.

IIRC they were having a clearance on S&W, so I got mine new for $475 with tax and background check. Which was cheaper than anything I had seen online at the time. Usually I do just order online, unless find a deal on something unique/used. I just enjoy walking around gun shows sometimes to see if there's anything interesting, but occasionally there's a good deal from certain vendors. The table I got my M&P from actually has really good deals usually.

More or less, yeah. A full set of ratchets and sockets from craftsman, and a full wrench set. Ratcheting wrenches are absolutely worth it, along with flare nut wrenches. Torque wrenches are also recommended for some critical componenets.

I'm in the process(sic) of building my 3rd AR, I've let go of the other two, sold the first one and traded the second for a motorcycle and by now I think I know what I want, I'm okay with waiting a few months to pic parts up on sale and get the deals I want but I want /arg/'s advice if you wouldn't mind.


I'm looking for something to go in my range toy/ varmint category.

I'm not looking to hunt larger game so .223 is fine with me.

So far I only have a PSA blem lower.
Who does decent sales on parts regularly enough? I'm planning on buying a MOE+ LPK without FCG from PSA for $40 and was deciding between the SSA or any other decent cheaper trigger, other than that I just want an 18-20" barrel without A2 FSP and a free-float handguard with enough railspace for a light and maybe a foregrip.

What are some good options here? I've been out of the AR scene for quite a while with the motorcycle (if you thought guns were an expensive hobby...) and I'm kind of out of the loop for new technology and new companies reselling the old technology for less.

Is the accupoint 3-9x still a great option? I can get a hold of one for $660 on ebay and I planned on getting one for my hunting rifle so I could conceivably swap it and re-zero if I ever take the AR varmint popping.
