Pic related is my favorite fictional gun. I imagine the break action reload and the reciprocating tri barrel firing mechanism could be feasible, the ammunition is where I'm at a loss. Some type of helical mag that contains a set amount of energy charges that fire at high velocities and dissipate on impact is needed, like small paintball-Esque projectiles or something. Plus dat predator style laser. Idk I just really like the gun.

Yea that departure from ww2 aesthetic really irked me. Lots of the guns in kz2 and 3 looked like stamped metal. The uniforms that had cloth caps, trench coats and removable helmets that covered shaven heads turned all into basically robots.

The capture troopers from kz3 were ok because they were Stahls (a rich weapons manufacturer) personal guards so he could afford to give them the best equipment.

But after getting their asses kicked they some how can afford to give ALL their soldiers these armor suits?

The Lambert Carbine from Battlefield 2142 has always been a favorite of mine. It takes a pistol sized magazine into the side of the rifle, presumably with the ammunition sitting vertically. I've tried figuring out a feed mechanism for it.

the original concept was to have a bolter+lasgun bullpup (oicw style) combo weapon but there were problems with the auto bolter size and mag size. the entire compact airdop design got compromised and the las part, the iconic ig stuff looked weak.

i also liked the grenade launcher way better it can fire a variety of rounds (smoke, tear, he, heat, frag, canister, signal, etc..) very tactically flexible something that outperforms individual bolts many times really.

so the new concept was more down-to-earth and it has the shotgun chambered so that it is compatible with bolter bolts it can fire them instead of slugs in a pump action manner. it's not my fav tho.

In the first Killzone, the standard Helghast sidearm was the IvP-18 Tropov, which had a three round burst firing mode. Since the Sta-18 is very similar to the IvP-18, it's likely a leftover of the old pistol model.

Really? I felt the opposite was true. Plus the campaign's weapon selection was piss-poor, leaving out a lot of weapons completely. I wish the campaign at least had enemies drop randomized supply drop variants or something, it would have made things a little more fun.

The campaign also limits exo movements and doesn't let you chain dash and slides, which I hated more than anything.

Survival is the best gameplay mode anyway if you're not doing multiplayer. I wish you could buy the guns that were added in later updates in Survival, though.

I've always wondered how a lot of the BF2142 weapons would have worked. I know if not all of them use caseless ammunition, but I still would like to see a plausible example round for the weapons. Something like that Zeller-H Advanced Sniper rifle had tiny as fuck magazine but was capable of killing with one shot if the target didn't have heavy armor.

Fuck, I'd love to see BF2145 or something, but not with how DICE is today.

Could be done, but the length would be a problem. Either it goes on till it hits something, which would make it extremely unwieldy. You could have something to stop it, which would make it look like a hacksaw, or you make the output much weaker so it fades out at whatever length you want it. I think it had something to do with them wanting to do airsoft replicas modeled after some of the in game weapons, so they had to be snowflake tier.

It can't have been a licensing issue because there are dozens of other games that have AK/AR variants. I'm pretty sure that it's public domain by now.

People keep saying it was so as not to pay royalties to airsoft companies, but it's obvious it was so they could have that gun customization actually work. Every nook and cranny of every gun had to be interchangable with every other gun, and vice versa.
That being said, I actually liked MGS V's weapon designs and weapon customization, and I'll fight you. It's just too bad that only rifles had enough parts and attachments to make customization really worth your time.

The weapon is called "China Lake," so I'm guessing they wanted to use a China-Lake shotgun-style design. Maybe they were not allowed to do this because the people in charge wanted it to be consistent with the old games, where the grenade launcher always looked like a Milkor MGL?
