What makes the SAA so shitty? I get that the handguard and railed gas block is low quality. I don't mind that stuff. The SAA kit also comes with charging handle and BCG.

It is a SPARC AR indeed. I have some old Magpul XTM covers on another upper, and some regular santoprene ladder covers that came with the Omega Rail. and haven't decided which I want to use, and I kind of like the way it feels as is, surprisingly.

A sling and pistol grip are my next additions though, for sure.

Yes, it's the best general purpose round. Cheap and very effective against soft targets when using 16" or longer barrel. I wouldn't use it for hunting though, it doesn't fragment reliably enough, only something like ~%50 of rounds will fragment. Use soft points for hunting.

I prefer something a bit heavier--higher viscosity, that is--because it sticks around longer on things like bolt carriers and is less prone to running away after a few hundred rounds. Wal-Mart full synthetic 75W90 gear oil. It works pretty well on semiauto handgun slide rails too.

I tried a lower weight because lolhypermiling/ potentially easier cold start, but noticed no difference and went back.

at this point your sump is completely empty and all the applicable fluid capacity measurements are accurate.

if your shit takes 5 quarts, put 5 quarts in.

unjack vehicle again

check stick. (it will be right if you properly drained the sump)

its not 3 over. I drained the oil and got 7 some out and put a little bit less than 8 in. The problem is the dipstick curves into the engine block or whatever giving you a wrong reading. It literally shows one side over and one side none. You can google it. its a problem with all tundras for some reason

I've been meaning to ask. As far as durability of usgi mags, did the guys in the sandbox have to account for mags or couldn't get new ones ? A couple of nam vets i talked to said they were basically considered disposable. If you happened to see one on the ground after a furball and still in the area that looked okay you might pick it up . But you were going to get new ones when you re supplied after if you wanted them.

you can't drain oil out of a pan to a certain dipstick level successfully. this is why you have to know your capacities beforehand and properly drain the sump. then you replace to the published capacity. the stick is there to make sure you didn't fuck up the drain procedure.

the only way to undo an overfill without making it a retard fest nightmare is to put a siphon down the dipstick tube and siphon the oil out PAST the overfill amount and then replace slowly while attempting to use the dipstick as a fine measuring device.

in otherwords, dont fucking overfill your oil.

yes it does. it tells you whether or not you should be changing your oil. you shouldn't be changing your oil.

reading a dipstick requires you to be quick with it. you're literally dipping it into a pool of oil and looking for where the dry spot appears. pulling the stick out of a tube that has numerous bends will not affect your reading because you're pulling oil DOWN the wet part of the stick as it drags on the walls of the dipstick tube.

Dumbass here, my AR has 5.56 marked on the barrel, can I fire 223 out of it accurately and without damage to the rifle?
I was told the 223 has a smaller bullet so it would bounce around my barrel before exiting.
