My handguard installation instructions say to apply adhesive to the barrel nut before I put it on. Is this a permanent adhesive or is there a way to take off the handguard after I install it?

Looking for some opinions.
I'm trying to decide on what to run atop my Bcm 16". I'm set on either the vortex spitfire 3x or the spitfire 1x with a magnifier.
I like the ability to have magnification but don't know if I want fixed power and I'm not a fan of having a long set up on top.
I have an astigmatism so the prism scopes are great.
What do y'all think?
