Depends on how you shoot really. I have a PRO, CompM4, and T1. Functionally, they all work the same for me when shooting torsos inside of 250y.

The PRO and CompM4 are nicer on small targets at range like clays on the berm or small steel rounds as I like the "roomier" view through them in that scenario so I can pan off of a target that is covered completely by the dot then back on easier.

By drop-in do you mean a cassette type trigger like the Timney/AR Gold/CMC?

Not unless you find a really good deal on one. As in, sub-$150.

Now don't get me wrong, I like my CMC 3.5lb flat single-stage, but the proprietary trigger pins that require (almost microscopic) E-clips to stay in and the fact that cassette triggers as a whole are less durable means it is objectively inferior to other options.

For example, the SD-E has the same pull weight (+/- like 1-2 ounces), uses normal trigger pins, and by design is far more durable. Also has less creep and overtravel. Almost twice what I paid for my CMC though.

What the fuck am I reading?
That being said, the atmosphere is both extremely thin and very inert (very little oxygen and almost no water), it would basically preserve your rifle for life.

As for the temperatures, they're arctic most of the time, so you'd need appropriate lube, but the rest of the issues plaguing guns in cold climates (mostly condensation re-freezing) wouldn't happen on Mars.

Cooling would be an issue. Despite the atmosphere being very cold most of the time, it's too thin to be an effective coolant, so a gun that got hot would take its sweet time in cooling down again. But it would be still a lot better than vacuum.

So Im torquing dow n my barrel to 50 ft lbs and I can't get that thing to move farther, I didn't hear the wrench click so I go to back it off a little bit and go back to 50. This thing won't budge at all, the gunsmith at my shop had a go at it and same thing. He said screw it and if we cant get it out its probably torqued properly. How screwed am I?

Should I buy a complete Anderson lower with a CMMG parts kit and surplus stock kit for $80-100+a detachable carry handle or should I just trade the Carry handle for a stripped lower?

You didn't torque it correctly. You never go 0-50. Do it in steps and slowly deform the threads. 30 ft-lbs and back the nut off. 40-, back off, 50, off, apply anti sieze and then final torque.

Also if you didn't lubricate your threads you've fucked it up.
