If you dont want to pay the "muh navy seals" tax for the x24 NF, the leupolds were far more commonly issued to other branches and the 3.5-10x40 isn't completely terrible since you can get it in ffp which even the NF isn't.

I actually like to keep the end of the light even with the end of the 15" rail, and we have already seen testimonial from others here that it has no effect on quality lights.

I'd sell it with all the accessories for like $150, seems like a fair price. Mount was like $60, hand stop like $40, both direct mount. The ring with the light mount is .620" and fits standard Surefires like my E2D Defender, but you can get other sizes from IWC.

Depending on the actual model it could have been anywhere from 1 to 2k USD new. So probably a fair deal. I would personally value some reticle and turret options much lower than others but the glass and tracking is all good across the board.

I don't know, like $120? The mounting system is "proprietary", because it came out before dickmod and magpul licensed boxmod were a thing. I have 3 like 4" rail segments that attach and detach using captive tabs with a hex key. The IWC accessories, which you can still buy, attach with a flat nut and hex head screw.

Im not the seller but they do have bolt on pic rails for odd stuff, and there are a lot of direct mount items for most anything else you may want. It is also has a full top rail.

Yeah the rail segments came with the rail so I'd toss em in. Still, if you want a hand stop and ever want to mount a light, the IWC mount is the lowest profile thing I was able to find.

Bipods of any sort other than that fancy swiss or norwegian or something carbon fiber one add a fair amount of weight to the wrong end of the rifle for anything you will want to carry.

The end aesthetic is good, I've considered cutting or rebarreling the recce to 14.5" and shrink the gap to the can but velocities are already pretty marginal out of the 16" when playing on the big kid range.

When I think too hard about it I start being able to rationalize a 12.5" or 13" .308 for the same task with a short barrel.

Fuck the weekend can't get here soon enough. I want to go run paper plate drills.

If I were to obtain one and assemble a full on rifle, what kind of trouble would i be facing if I got caught with it? They do the job. Real simple to take on and off.

You'd need to put some elbow grease in if you get them surplus though, as they're usually covered in surplus rust. Gun Oil and Steel Wool did the trick for me.

Tends to stratch the finish on the barrel where it clamps, and setting it on like concrete or something leads to screeching sounds whenever you try and adjust.

Otherwise It's a good, cheap bipod if you have the setup for it.
