Depends, it would cost me 50 for an anderson because of FFL fees, (although I could get a $40 lower of a different brand locally)...

But, my lowers each cost between 30-40 as anodized 80%s. The expensive part is the jig and endmill, but honestly I consider tools investments and don't include them in the cost.

My optics budget was limited to 750 or so but then my dad started to really get into shooting back at home, talked to him about ARs and he seemed really enthusiastic.

TLDR he agreed to get two ACOGs and cover the cost of mine up too 1150

He's gonna build his own AR now as well, going shooting with him on Sunday.

Syrup here. So, this is the one I was looking at, an Armalite M15A2. Like I said in the last thread, I don't know jack shit about ARs. What's wrong with Armalite ARs? Modern ones seem to get good reviews, and it's going for only a bit more than a Norc AR.

And would one of these make for a good "retro/Cold War" build?

New thread, same post. I'm going to lurk arfcom for an ACOG I think. Any suggestions for anything else on this rifle? The only thing left besides the optic is a trigger which is going to be an SD-C.

Parts so far:
Noveske N4 Light 16" barrel with the Noveske block pinned

Upper receiver is a Rainier Arms Ultramatch A4

I put the memefighter stock on my AK and like it well enough. Between it and the fagpul CTR I have on my other AK, I like the BCM stock better. I also have the BCM stubby foregrip on that rifle, and it makes the weight of the Vepr a lot more manageable. It's an excellent foregrip.

Since this is /arg/, I'll just say I have an A2 stock on my 20" BCM frankengun.

The rear sight was $20 and I like them well enough. I see no reason to pay more money to replace it. I think it pairs well with the MBUS Pro front. It's all tool less adjustmend which is neat.

Question, Larue still good for scope mounts? Their shit hasn't changed much since like...5 years ago when I last looked into this shit. Looking at maybe an ACOG combo.

GunPro in Springfield is a great store, however their selection has been pretty sparse lately, the customer service is top-fuckin-notch though.

Barons Den is ok, not the best on prices but the best for selection.
Oak Grove Guns is generally centered around ARs, usually busy, customer service is good, prices fair.
SM Guns is fudd central, fuck them.
Mazama is alright, good selection of handguns, rather pricey.

and of course there's Cabelas.
Its a good place, unless you're a Cali-fag, we don't want you.
