I know about maxim's suppressors, but there were never any threads on the Thompson for suppressor use. Also there were never any wartime period mods to the Thompson for use with the suppressor.

The only time a Thompson barrel was suppressed back in the war was on the De Lisle carbine but that was on a Enfeild bolt action

And there is no fucking way that sight looks like the pictured one or would fit on any of guns in the game and they were never used in the war.
So you basically plucked it out of your ass by using this one as a basis for leveling up reasons? Was this crap done to compete with MOH airborne who did the same leveling up gimmick..., only though used real war time used parts i.e. Wood VG on the Thompson, longer 30rd mag... etc

Thanks though for making the game as a demo as it saved me from wasting my money on it and instead bought some extra ammo for my garand.

Yeah that game was the straw that broke the camel's back for me with video games. I never bought / played another COD again and didn't buy another video game until last year.

The funny thing was that I really really wanted a good Vietnam FPS, to augment my aging copy of Battlefeild Vietnam and was stoked to see COD going there only to get a Hot plate of Pic related. Breh, if you think there was ever gonna be a game anything like the old ones, you're nothing short of delusional, Doom 3 and Doom 4 can only realistically be considered as separare from the classic games.

Though it had an awful shotgun, the chainsaw was nothing short of terrific and is probably the highlight of the game.
In Doom 3, you can realistically fight a lot of the bigger and meaner monsters with the chainsaw, with the right skill.
In the originals, the chainsaw was only good for mooks, try to fight a baron or mancubus with the saw in the classics and they'll rape you.
For all of Doom 3s flaws, it has the better saw.

The shotgun in Doom isn't based on any particular real gun (the base prop was a Tootsie Toy Dakota), the pistol was a watergun modeled after an M9, which they spraypainted black.

Personally, I think the Ithaca M37 slightly fits Doom more, with it's more humble looks and with no ejection ports on either side of the receiver (the Ithaca ejecting out of it's loading gate)
