Which vests and other merchandise is better? The ones from MFH or Miltec? I'm more interested to know which have better vests for combat purposes and if they can accept kevlar/ceramic plates for protection.
Also please do restrict to mainland Europe since im poor eurofag.
Bonus question: should i just buy a second hand genuine military vest? I have the option between osprey and the pic related one.
Thanks in advance.

Yes.
You can find full IBA sets for ~100 bucks, and slap some 100$ surplus Lv4 plates / AR500 plates in it, and have a good time.

What was the best anti tank weapon of WW2? I heard that the Germans lost partly because they had no good anti tank weapons till 1943, and what they did have was bulky things like this. What was the best weapon, and what do we use today, besides missile strikes?

I like how the soviets used german shepards as AT during ww2
>>
I have also heard that the panzerfaust was pretty damn good, but I think that was invented in 43, don't actually know. Landmines are also probably pretty good anti tank weapons

Best performance and greatest strategic impact of the weapons system are two very different things. That being said the Germans deployed some of the best anti tank weapons in both categories. Flak 88s would rip the shit out of armor that got anywhere close to it, however firing from a fixed position with a slow to move gun that has a high profile generally doesn't bode well. A weapon like the panzerfaust by comparison had very limited range and reliability. However you could produce a million of them and could issue them to soldiers with very little training and still use them to very good effect.
You are somewhat right about early war weapons mostly outdated guns ment for outdated tanks. Most countries had this problem though.

Or you could just, yknow, not be a dick.

I'm watching The Pacific and there's an officer refered to as "Gunny"?
What is he?
Why does he scream a lot?

An E7, two ranks higher than a sergeant
He's an NCO, non commissioned officer, referred to as an enlisted man and not a commissioned officer, referred to as officer

He screams because there are a lot of useless idiots in the world and so little time to correct them.
>>
>>30071957
Marines call Gunnery Sergeants Gunnies. All though it's somewhat a term of endearment as well. For instance many people didn't call one of our Gunnery Sergeants Gunny because he was a dick face.
>>
He screams and throws brass at officers because they don't follow his range rules.

And by defending I mean taking part in multiple conflicts that the USA starts whilst letting the nations enemies cross across its borders with NO checks or overwatch. But infact releasing them and then paying them.

yeah enjoy the rangers mureeens or the engineersss.

Hey, /k/ommandos.

I've been tinkering on a pseudo-full stealth Jeep Rubicon. So far, it has bulletproof tires, "stealth" kevlar wheels, RF-absorbent paint, EM-proofing, radar/laser jammers, and hidden deployable road spikes.

I live in NC, and am wordering if it'd be legal to put custom-built machine guns (thinking about .30 or .223) behind the headlights. I'd build a mechanism which would shift the headlights out of the way with the push of a button, and the guns would be exposed, and would shoot at the push of a tact switch.

Is there anything illegal about doing this?

it is illegal in every state to mount an operational firearm to a vehicle. if you remove the firing pin and disable the weapon in such a way that you can replace the parts after shtf then youre gold.

So I just got my gun license, and I'm looking at a couple of options here. I have these rifles in my price range, from cheapest to the most expensive, most of them being semi converted milsurp:
VZ 58
GALIL SAR/ARM
FN FAL
and a somewhat more expensive option, about 70% more expensive than the Vz and manufactured as semi
STGW 57

Which one of these rifles should I pick and why? What are their pros and cons? Which has the cheapest ammo in the central europe area?
14 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>30071924
The best question is where are you?
Galil FAL VZ are better for the US.
If you are in Switzerland then 200 bucks a piece galore as well as cheap ammo, but ONLY Switzerland.
Rest of the world I dont know.
>>
Get an L85A2.
>>
>>30071965
Czech Republic is where I am at. So all ammo is expensive for me, it kinda boils down to the rifles. Of course, 7,5 swiss is probably the hardest to come by.

>>30071978

i have the the second one but the manual looks like 3 minus the pistol grip.
I'm going through the manual and beginning to think Walmart gave me the wrong box with the wrong manual. the inside of the barrel looks different than what im supposed to remove in the picture & im running into trouble with the slide lock. it was the display one and the guy originally came back with the completely wrong box (20 gauge). i just want to know the damn thing works

Anybody know anything about A5s? There's a mid-20s mfr 30" solid rib barrel (might even be matte) ~90% with the rounded pistol grip and reddish-stock (KBB says these are worth a premium). Is $450 decent?

They're still great shotguns to this day. For $450 I'd go for it. I paid that for my '48 Auto-5.
>>
>>30071777

That's what I was thinking. The pictures aren't clear, but even a standard full rib barrel a5 90% is worth at least $575 according to KBB (and in my experience KBB underestimates everything to some degree). Plus the rounded pistol grip and reddish stock combo are supposed to add up to 35% for the more desirable versions (which this isn't, but still).

And I can use my C&R...

Can anyone recommend a decent, relatively budget long range rifle? I'm looking more for manufacturers, I really don't know where to start. But if someone can point me in the right direction, I'll go try out a few at a range or gun store.

Turned 18 and want to go from nogunz to funs. I though I might enjoy precision shooting rather than an assault rifle, shotgun, etc. I figure it's decent on a range, I have knives for home protection, and I may try my hand at hunting soon, kinda always interested me.

You are Syrian.

You joined a rebel faction because if you hadn't joined a group at all you'd probably have died by now.

You shoot pretty good, apparently.

>He got all his shots inside the plate at 50m! This man is sniper material!

They tell you you're a sniper now, and hand you a weapon that they deem "marksman-worthy."

Your job is mostly to hide in bombed-out buildings and shoot anyone who walks down whatever street you're assigned to, as well as report any substantial enemy activity to command. Who may or may not actually be listening to the radio - you can never tell for sure. You've never received a reply when you've sent messages before, but you have received backup as a result.

>1. What weapon do you want that to be, bearing in mind you have no actual formal training in long-range shooting, and the obvious difficulties command has procuring suitable hardware?
>2. Do you bring a sidearm of some kind?

You'll have a partner, supposedly your "spotter," but he doesn't actually have any spotting equipment and just carries the radio, plus his AK, and helps keep watch. He's kind of an idiot. Eats 3/4 of the rations you're supposed to be splitting evenly between you.

What was/is the most ACCURATE service PISTOL ever actually fielded by a military in combat?

Picture hopefully not related.
32 posts and 7 images submitted.
>>
>>30071372
because differences in accuracy are clearly visible by soldiers in war who were desperate enough to have to use their pistol
>>
>>30071372
probably the beretta m9.

While I hate the m9 for being shitty at its job, (a backup/officer piece should be light and reliable, not heavy and unreliable) the m9 is a very precise handgun, with a good trigger. It is a very easy gun to get groups with and the heavy frame makes it have almost no recoil.

another good contestant would be the p226.

I discounted the 1911 because while the MEU ones are precise, the old ones were made to loose tolerances and were not all that accurate. They were reliable though
>>
>>30071395
I would also like to add that precision is not and should not be the focus of a service pistol. The focus should be weight and reliability. It is a last-ditch weapon and it should work when you need it and not encumber you much

the m9 doesn't work all the time and is heavy, so I think it is shit for a service pistol. A good service pistol would be a M&P-9 or a glock or even (for its time) a makarov. Its going to be a small bullet hose that is going to be used by someone with little training on it if it is used at all.
