Ok, looking for advice. My endgame if this story ever gets finished is to kill Izpalt and his inner god.
Thing is I am mainly a mostly melee character. Occasional throwing, a little magic device/alchemy for buffs and elemental damage, but 90% of my damage is focused on melee and I don't want to change that.
I know I am no where near close to even thinking about it (just started act 2 stuff) but would like a general idea of what I should shoot for if I want to be able to stab Izpalt to death.

Higher MD can help a bit in how much a mana rod restores. My current MD is 712 and I restore around 10k MP off one charge.

Spells can work fine against the gods. I remember a couple of wizard focused godslayers. The gods don't really have resists against pure magic and if all else fails you always have meteor.

Pretty much going to recommend what I recommended another player. Around 500 in your core attributes, ability to do around 15k damage to the gods at the least should insure a smoother fight, and good resists all around. 2000 speed will definitely help as well.

Itzpalt's main attack is going to be some sort of AOE spell so make sure your resists are good. When in inner god form you're going to have to watch out for when he hits you with his book. It might do a lot of damage to you and can potentially cause Ragnarok. He'll hit you with his book in melee range while still using AOE spells. Hope whatever you're using for heals will be sufficient.

Do not let him cap his gauge attack as his gauge attack will do lethal damage which might be enough to kill most players if they don't have enough HP, or HP/MP if using barrier, to survive it. There's special actions that can reduce enemy gauge so use them if you need to.

My main concern for you would be when Itzpalt gets weak he almost always mana bursts doing lethal amounts of damage to everything around him. Normally contingency can help here but since you're not going the magic route I imagine you're going to have to either do so much damage that you kill him before he does such an attack or you accumulate so much HP or HP/MP with barrier that you survive it.

I'd look into becoming a follower of Jure for her heals so that it can supplement whatever else you're using for heals.

I decided to write another custom tone file for Elona+, this time centered around the titular Young Lady. Fairly semi-popular even though she isn't a top tier ally.

As before, I wrote this while trying to keep a vanilla interpretation of the Young Lady in mind.
Her vanilla Elona lines though were much the same as Little Girl's, so I had to use more of my own interpretation this time.

Everything about her design screams twintail tsundere, but since Jure already fulfills the hardcore role, I tried to keep this tone file more subdued.

As before, some stuff to note:
- I'm no writer, so suggestions, improvements and grammar corrections would be appreciated
- I borrowed some stuff from the Generic Dialogue banter in the pastebin
- Also some lines from the Little Girl tone file bled through until I think of better lines
- Still needs some playtesting to know if the text flows well
- The Japanese text is still default

Thanks for the advice. I knew I wanted maxed speed and barrier but wasn't sure what else to aim for especially since most descriptions I heard about god slaying implied you were at least dipping into the mages guild.

My normal style of dealing with things tougher than usual is apply buffs via potions/rods, uncontroll, possibly omega shift core depending on gauge then stab the crap out of the enemy. Healing I also use potions/rods supplemented by prayer of Jure. I haven't had any major problems so far with it.
You mention contingency, I have a couple of scrolls I haven't had to use yet and have been saving for a rainy day. How do those stack up to the spell?

I swear the game likes to pick the hardest stats to recover when you die. At least I've only died a handful of times, but I swear each time I always lose a precious, precious point of Charisma.

Is there any way to mitigate gravity attack damage? I feel mostly unstoppable versus monsters in my comfort zone until some random asshole casts gravity sphere on me for like half my HP and I have to bail or eat shit.
Is it magic resist? Or maybe my HP is just low? I'm level 43 and I've got a little over 2k hp. My gravity spheres kick ass but I occasionally encounter monsters who are resistant so I assume there is some way I can protect myself.

The options are determined by the current month and your weapon's enhance level, increasing either by one will cycle it forward once.
So either wait a while or visit the blacksmith.

As for what to put on it, stacking magic damage is never a bad choice, few things resist it. Ice/Lightning damage can potentially be stronger, with element scar/wet status.

Well that is certainly one way of describing my little girl, though I can't argue with it. There is at least a reason I made her messed up. Early game she got pregnant and since I had no poison and I didn't know how drunken vomiting worked I saved her by making her drink an entire towns supply of alcohol which made her drunk for what seemed like 2 days. So alcoholism. Her ai for whatever reason also seems to prioritize female enemies 99% of the time, combined with the general trait that little girls will kill more than the player happily early game made me turn her into a homicidal legion after gene engineering all females into her. Problem is even if I was a good writer that premise is literally insane, which I didn't realize until I wrote it.

But either way thanks for the military putit advice. I read they were smarter than average putits thanks to the helmets in game, but I guess I wrote him too much military not enough putit.

So just found out about this game and have been researching things about it and there's just so much to learn, but I think I have basics down, but have a couple of questions.

1. I plan on making a melee focused characters which I read won't work too well mid to late game. Golem seemed like a nice choice or should I choose something else?

2. Is the mining skill worth it? I'm read that it's garbage. Is going through walls and finding ore/gold good? Those are useless items, right?

3. When choosing a God, should I get one that complements my style (Opatos) or should I choose someone that will help my lower stats (Jure)?

4. Should I try to get a pet with healing rain as soon as I can? How can I tell what abilities pets have without looking it up? Or is that just something I will learn from experience?

5. Should I stay burdened 100% of the time to train weight lifting? If I choose Golem and Warrior to start with does it affect how much weight lifting I start with?

6. What is the max level/points a skill can have?

7. What should I focus on for feats? Luck? Speed? What should I always try to get?

Seems like it could be a fun game so I'm just trying to get a better understanding of it before I start.

That's not how it's done, the game uses "It grants you knowledge of" to indicate it raises an "intellectual" skill, and "It makes you better at" for the others.

Sword & Board is bad if you're a solo character, but if you're planning to be the party tank while your pets rain death from afar it's wonderful.
See, using Shield for a melee character decreases the damage you take and deal. But if most of the damage your team deals is being dealt by your pets, and most of the damage your team takes is being dealt to you, Shield is incredible.

Hey guys I'm getting this stupid error that freezes the game. The loss of game time isn't the problem, but the non-Esc exit penalty is destroying my character.

What the hell, when did Doctor Gavela get changed?
You can now choose which slots you want, and it costs a set amount/modified by how much life you have, which means you can no longer get max hands, unless you just savescum the level up slots. But even so the amount of hands you can have is decreased.
And this means you'll most likely end up with even less life since yoou can only get about 4 hands max before you end up with 1 life, I had 17 left on my 12 hand backup.
Fuck me, just when I regaining interest in my mutant, I find this out.
I can easily use an older version, but I don't know which one this change was in.
It's older than 1.67, which is the oldest version on my computer after 1.49, which is a bit too old.

Anyway, literally any pet is fine in elona+. God servants are great, and roleplay potential is endless.
Personally if i wanted a ranged pet party i'd get 4-6 yerles gunners and tag them together. It may not be the most powerful combo but it works really well until act 3.

If you already have it, I don't know. I never found a good use for a Vindale generated by a low level character's wish. It's easy to pay attention to your calendar, and cure corruption potions are stupid easy to get from casinos on lucky days.

You have to make sure you saved it as a 24-bit bmp file. I'm not sure about your editor, but paint.net always asks this before saving the file (default option usually changes the "24-bit" part).
Using a working file (that isn't crashing your game) as a base also helps if you aren't used to editing stuff.

Well what I'm doing is I'm layering the custom .bmp on top of the original .bmp and erasing the purple/green/white boxes that are over the new sprites in the original game and then merging the layers together. Heavier weapons will lead to higher crit damage and if you have any it deals magic or some sort of elemental damage on your weapon the damage from that as well will increase. The difference in damage between a really light weight weapon wielded two handed and a really heavy weapon wielded two handed can be huge.

Pic shows me wielding a 5.2s +10 blessed living spear and a 420.8s +10 blessed living spear. Damage from the lighter spear on crit is about 27k stab damage and 70k magic damage or 97k total damage. Damage from the heavy spear on crit is about 66k stab and around 170k magic damage or 236k total damage.

So a heavier weapon can do more damage however if you cast spells prepare to have spell casting success go down. Your equipment weight will likely be heavy. Either tolerate around 80 or so percent casting success or unequip your heavy spear before casting.

Give them gold through evochat or give them gems to sell, get them pickpocket skill and let them kill stuff, then spend time running around town until they hit 400% in everything. They spend gold while in town to increase their potentials.
Using potions on them would be a waste and the dojo is much much slower the any other method
