I consider pretty much all the pop/light rock that appears in the games to be "normie", so Supercell, mitchieM, DECO*27, 40mP etc. all come to mind.

Not that they don't have good songs, but just having their name attached to shit doesn't impress me whereas I feel like it does with others. I gravitated to Vocaloid music to get away from the generic pop that everyone else is listening to, not to get more of it.

Why is mikudb.moe dead for so many months? This is getting ridiculous, I don't want to get my weeb vocaloid albums from 9t.

Best headphones you've ever owned?
Been looking to move away from the cheap $30 ones I've had for years now but I'm a bit lost so far and wondering what you guys were using. I'm also checking the /g/ thread.

My usual advice for non-audiophiles who want quality headphones is to look at what audiophiles recommend anyway, and then go around the low end of that (around $150-300 or so is a good place to start). In addition to the /g/ thread, check out /r/headphones' wiki for recs (/hpg/ will hate me for that, but it's best to not rely solely on 4chan for buying advice...). Head-Fi is a good audiophile forum, too, and they have a guide as well: https://www.head-fi.org/f/articles/headphone-buying-guide.14163/

Personally, I use pic related: Beyerdynamic 770 (but 32ohm in black instead). Pretty decent soundstage for closed headphones, and solid bass; good all-rounder. $180. Headphones are very subjective though -- I recommend trying several before deciding on one, see what you like. Be sure to try an open-backed as well, if sound leakage is not a concern.

You mean 80 vs 32 ohm? Haven't tried the 80, but check out "sound characteristics" in https://www.head-fi.org/f/threads/guide-sonic-differences-between-dt770-dt990-models-more.513393/ Although I can't imagine it's that large of a difference. Do keep in mind though, at higher impedance, you may need a soundcard or dac/amp to drive it (else it'll be too quiet; 80 should be fine though I think). If you get free returns, can't hurt to try it out.

hey controller anon, for the wires, does it matter if the connector on the switch actually goes inside the spade thing or not? I noticed the prongs on the 100mm button switch are too big to go in normally, but I was able to slide it on top, with the plastic bit snuggly holding it in place. as long as metal is touching metal, it should work, right?

Yes. I couldn't entirely slide some spades into a couple of connectors because tolerances and such but that doesn't matter as long as they don't fall while hitting the buttons. If the spade is a bit smaller than the connect then it's okay. It will remain firmly.

FT is the only game in this series that doesn't adhere to that philosophy. Also have the X HD controller, and I'm not so sure it's THAT much better than the DS4. The buttons are really squishy which makes rapid notes much more difficult than they should be.

It's fun, though. Definitely better for holds and multi-notes than the DS4, but I'm not sure I'd call it an unquestionable direct upgrade. A custom board that replicates the arcade board would do it, though.

No, I agree completely. I'm a developer as well; this is inexcusable. What's worse is they somehow can't manage to keep the existing site running while they build the new one. I don't understand what they're thinking.

For the sides I think I used pine wood planks... anything that is not MDF is okay (MDF is too porous and you will have problems to painting it). The bottom of the case is MDF though, as is cheaper and you can't see it from the outside.

For painting I used a first layer of primer to prepare the wood and then a synthetic enamel paint: something with a lacquer that hides the wood veins and leaves a glossy finish.The only exception is the red line: I used acrylic paint for that.

If you use more than one colour, use mask tapes like these to make straight lines and leave the paint to dry for a good day or two between layers (I applied two for colour).
