Hachi is literally an old bitter man. Instead of becoming one of the Vocaloid greats, he left to pursue a "real" career where he never had a chance to compete with the big boys.

I think you and the other salty anons don't know how popular Kenshi actually is. He has several songs with tens of millions views, and he's now being asked to make anime openings/endings songs all the time. Surely there's a lot of much more popular japanese musicias, but Kenshi is much more popular (and making much more money) now than he could ever be as Hachi.

You can judge a song you don't know the lyrics of on a musical basis but not a lyrical one. And judging a song musically is perfectly valid. If you don't like the way a song sounds, even if you learn the lyrics and like them the song will sound just as shit, lyrics don't carry a song. The opposite is also true, a song sounding great won't make it's lyrics less shit if they're bad. These components are both important in their own right and can be judged separately as well as how they form a whole. It's that simple folks.

The fact that there are works that are visual without text and works that are text without visual doesn't mean that you should judge works that are both solely based on the art or solely based on the text. The manga to music comparison is bad because a written piece, be it plain text or one with any degree of visual accompaniment, exists to tell a story. The story in a manga isn't an integral piece; it's the very foundation. All the other elements of the manga work together to tell the story because that's what their job is. Even a manga with no words still tells a story. You can have a manga with no words, but it'd be hard to find one with neither words nor a story. I can't even really imagine what that would look like.
Music doesn't work the same way, however. The point of a song is not always to tell a story. Sometimes it is, but it's not the foundation of all songs, which is why we're able to say a song is "good" even if it has no words and tells no story. You'll hear in a lot of interviews with musicians that sometimes they write the vocals like sheet music, and then after the rest of the song is done, they plug in words that fit the cadence putting little thought or effort into their meaning. Like I asked earlier, what about songs with lyrics that are nonsense? What about songs with bubblegum lyrics that have no meaning whatsoever? What about a song that has incredible lyrics but the singer is garbage and the drummer has no rhythm? How do you keep it all straight in your head what songs have lyrics that matter and which ones don't and judge accordingly? And what happens if you listen to a song and you have no clue what the lyrics are? Are you incapable of deciding whether or not you liked it until you see a lyrics sheet? How can you say a song is bad because you don't like the lyrics without evaluating any of the other aspects of the song at all?

I'm late but I personally absolutely love him. His Miku's voice is unique and instantly recognisable, pretty much a 10/10. My personal top 5 producer. Although I feel a bit conflicted about his newer music as he's increasingly using his own voice, because in my opinion, his voice is okay at best. HUMAN could have been amazing if there was more Miku rather than his own vocals, since his music is still god-tier, but I just can't enjoy his voice.

can't really film my hands so here's the inputs i do.
you learn it kinda like piano practice, just do it really slow at first to get the correct sequence in your mind, then you go increasingly faster until you can do it correctly and fast
