So long as you're not making money off of it, you're usually cool in the US under parody and fair use laws.

For the Japs the law tends to be even looser - look at the doujin market, or comiket. So long as you give credit where credit is due you seem to be a-okay.

Well Sega for sure because of a few songs they added to the games and adding several different panties for panty and upskirt fetishists. Though, it can be argued that they characters are singing songs that don't have anything to do with them (such as a storyteller not being a part of with the stories they tell), it's still a poor move on Sega's part. The problem here is how so many people try to say the characters absolutely must be the character they are singing about. Separate the song from the person signing it, and I thing you'll see it as Sega does.

Anyone here like any of the more metal-esque sounding vocaloid artists (utsu-p, okame-p, yuyoyuppe)? I've liked them for a while but haven't been able to find any HQ downloads or anything if they even exist. Does anyone happen to know where any of those would be or have any tips to help me find them? Google hasn't been a huge help and the results are spotty at best.

I'll repeat it: Someone can sing a song, but that doesn't mean they are what they sing. You can sing it, but that doesn't mean you are what you're signing about.
