Ixima is a great artist, no doubt, but his Miku is even more generic than KEI's.

KEI's watercolor effects and use of over saturation is at least somewhat unique.

I like Ixima's Miku, but IMO it's not the best version of Miku.

His Rin & Len design for V4 etc is really nice though. The original was meh, Append looks cool but made them look way too old, Ixima's Rin & Len though is probably their best design yet.

To be honest, aside from Luka all the V4 Vocaloid designs are my favorite official designs from Crypton so I'd go with Ixima

That's as a secondary effect. There was no guarantee that Vocaloids were going to be popular outside of Japan so it was a bit of a risky move. To be fair, I don't feel that Vocaloids really are popular outside of Japan. Miku has a following and the best chance to be recognized but it seems interest or knowledge of other loids falls through the floor.
