Worst character archetype. So cliche and dumb every single time
>>
>>14416218
At least this one's doing it to support her poor family and sick mother.
>>
>>14416235
The problem for me is just how difficult and unlikely it is to become an idol, so from the every beginning the idea just doesn't sit well with me at all, it's like having your girlfriend be the #1 athlete in the entire country as opposed to just a normal high school athlete. It's like "mary sue" (so to speak) mixed in with otaku fantasy. Doesn't sit well with me ever, in any game I've ever played with it

Oh right. She's indeed some kind of mary sue.

I don't understand how otaku can even like idols, given that they have to be constantly fucking everyone in sight to advance their careers. The odds of an idol being "pure" is fantasy, plain and simple.
>>
>>14416258
Thanks Anon. I really love the art in this game. Too bad it's a sequel, it'll take me a while before I can get to it.
>>
>>14416271
That's why 2D idols exist. They can be pure.
Of course 3D idols aren't "pure".
And who's to say that idols should be pure? I don't really care if idols are virgins or not, you can like them anyway.
>>
>>14416271
Yes, I never got how people become enamored with real life idols. People call anime and eroge otaku deluded, but these people are on a whole different level. I'd argue they're even more fake than 2D girls.

>>14416287
It's not about being virgin or not, I wouldn't care if they had sex with someone they loved, it's a career where they're required to sleep with producers to get ahead.
>>
>>14416271

I'm impressed how eroge writers think about this since Usagi's producer is a woman.
Anyway they actually shit on the idol industry here and there on PxH2 so I don't have anything to say back.

Well that was a fairly enjoyable route to go through, it was fun to see a character grow and change right before and you playing a part in it and changing as well. Also, both the characters finding what it means to be newly weds and what it requires. However I did find myself getting tired of the icha scenes towards the end.
>>
>>14416275
The game is written so that it doesn't really matter if you've read Kokoro Navi or not, though one of the heroines does show up directly and a few more are referenced. I believe Kokoro Navi has issues running on a modern OS but I haven't gotten around to fiddling with it myself yet.

Finished Yukie's route from 恋する気持ちのかさねかた. Overall pretty average, for me feels a little like missed opportunity almost, not quite sure. The characters and the relationships were all pretty good; the older brother and the MC, the MC and the little sister, and even the MC and Yukie were fun. I especially like how the older brother was a role model in many ways for the MC, and it didn't have to explicitly slap me in the face with the concept; the subtlety in some of the characters was nice. The setup to the actual confession was a little awkward and not clear, but I could kind of see where it was going by the end.

Problem was mostly in the story: game was way too short overall and focused too much on the student council stuff. Maybe the deep intricacies and excitement of student council work is lost on me, but I couldn't care less for a good half of the game. The character route was basically just sex scene, student council election work, sex scene, repeat until the end. Maybe occasional humorous portions but overall short and not very fulfilling. Not quite as stale and dull as some of the other Ensemble games, but still has some issues. Art was nice as always, really most of my complaints are from the story.

That's a sales ranking. SakuUta is first place in moege awards, which is a popularity poll, thus contradicts what you say.

Besides that sales ranking is counting since October 1st, and SakuUta was released the 23rd, so it must be missing most sales.

Lose, what the fuck are you doing? These motions look fucking awful. Nekopara and Neptunia's e-mote technology blows this out of the water. There should better be an option to turn this shit off.
>>
>>14421791
Seriously, Himari voices one of the heroines again?
>>
>>14421791
>>14421801
On a more related note, the CGs aren't as bad as the tachi-e, but Lose managed to bring out the worst of e-mote, which is that they feel the need to make literally everything move, even if it's nonsensical and unnecessary. Like everyone is in a constantly incredibly breezy room. E-mote is pretty good at subtle animation, not so much for the epileptic shaking of the characters portrayed here. Look at her bangs in this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iyei_16uhAg

There undoubtedly will be an option to turn it off, but while it's awkward at parts it's still interesting to look at to say the least.

Fuck them for decreasing the loli heroines from 2 to 1 since Monobeno, though. That upsets me more than anything. I don't understand why Lose would do that when Monobeno did rather well.

Yes
Everything important from the game is introduced when relevant in VI.

I'd say that VI is the most vital game in the series so far in terms of plot though 03 is fairly important and has better set up future events and developments in particular for stuff we can expect in X.

IV is also nice to have played for IX.

This is all you need from 5D

Rance cums in Feliss while she is in heat. Which is explained in VI when you meet Rance and Feliss' son.
Rizna's experiences in the Genbu dimension which is explored in VI where she's pretty much a subheroine and her backstory is explored a lot including the person responsible for her getting trapped.
Rance saving Rizna. Which is why she's really grateful to him every other time they meet.
Copandon falling in love with Rance. But that's not that important to see happen. \
And a nice part of the whole thing with Revenge-chan which is nice but hardly important.
Oh and you'll miss a one off reference in Sengoku.
>>
>>14422883
You can but there's no real reason to, it's like a 2 hour game at most and if the gameplay bothers you that much you can just cheat. Hearing what happened 2nd hand isn't as good as reading it yourself

You also get to see maximum asshole Rance in 5D as well

AS uploads the games they bought on Nyaa/AS via Checkmate and girlcelly, whatever games that they upload also get uploaded by 2DGF with the version they bought (and in the case they didn't buy it then they upload Checkmate's version). While this is happening 2DGF uploads 2-4 games that are directly released to the public and then girlcelly posts direct copies of those uploads on Nyaa and AS, sometimes those games directly overlap with AS's releases.

I actually like it that way since I'm usually annoyed by the overly loud vocals in J-Pop music. But indeed the dynamics in general are kind of weird, they should re-master it. The opera-like parts are the best, they should've gone for opera-like harmonies in the chorus. But overall I really liked it. The chorus feels kinda old-school, in a good way.

Since it seems it'll be divided in 3 big routes/arcs it'll have 3 OPs. The rest:

Why do they make Watanabe Akio and that one guy work together again? Designs look weird.

I've been playing Relaxation Yuuka. Art is by Bubuzuke.
It's about salaryman who goes to erotic massage parlor.
It's great, there are 2 girls-Yuka and Aya.
Yuka is gentle and caring girl while Aya is little bit feisty but still caring.
Whole game is full of healing~. All characters are adorable, i had smile plastered over my face while I was playing it.
Sequel will be out at Christmas, with 2 new girls.

I've been having problems with Translation Aggregator as of recently.

I'm able to extract text from VNs through ITH to clipboard, but Translation Aggregator seems to not be recognizing an update on the clipboard. Over 50% of the lines I grab to clipboard won't be seen in the Context Manager.

I'll hit ctrl+v and the line is obviously on my clipboard, but Context Manager doesn't realize it. Furthermore, it doesn't seem to be linked to any specific version of Translation Aggregator as I've tried multiple versions.

When it does find a line, it'll translate it fine in the main window under any active engines, but my clipboard seems to be messed up. There doesn't seem to be any correlation between the lines that show up and the lines that don't either.

Anyone ever run into this?

>>
>>14430094
It's not illegal to look at it. The law prohibits the sale and/or public display of "obscene material," not the viewing of it in privacy.
The whole issue is very gray and rarely enforced in the first place. Like, artists stream themselves drawing uncensored and don't get in trouble.

of course there won't be an R18 version. It's generally way too much investment to hire eroge seiyuus for a PC release that will sell maybe half of what it sold on console. If they wanted an R18 release they would have filled most of the cast with eroge seiyuus instead of big name regulars in the first place.
>>
>>14431061
Yep, For example Sengoku Koihime. It was all ages, but all of 50 heroines were eroge seiyuus so everyone was already expecting it.

What
>>
>>14431323
You can have technical reasons for liking something. We're not 4 anymore. You're going to have to express concrete ideas to help people understand your viewpoints
>>
>>14431330
Any "technical reasons" would be "art critic" bullshittery with nothing but "I don't know why" underneath. Whether you like something or not is decided before you can logically reason about it, and reasons you come up with afterwards are nothing but rationalization. Arguing about results of rationalization is most pointless thing you can do.

>>14431330
You can't dig too deeply though. If someone asks why you like a particular food, what else is there to say except you like the taste? Sure, you can mention how the saffron adds a punch, or that cooking it at a certain temperature makes it crispier, but at the end of the day, there's often not really satisfying reasons for why one likes what they do.
In the realm of art, it's possible to point out shading, or thickness of lines, or colouring, and so on. At the same time though, it's equally possible to like something because of it's shading or dislike something because of it's shading, or what have you. It's all subjective. It won't be productive to say "I like that art", and when forced to, add on that the shading is kind of nice, because someone else can easily pop in and say how the shading is bad from their perspective. What's there to understand, anon? It's opinion at the end of the day, and you won't find much satisfaction in attempting to understand them. At times like this, it's perfectly reasonable to acknowledge another's viewpoint with attempting to understand them.
>>
>>14431372
This.
>>
>>14431344
>>14431372
The problem with arguments like these is that you ultimately come to the conclusion that there's no reason to share opinions. The reason those rationalizations exist in the first place are because we strive to understand each other. Why even bother posting a comment like "his art is mediocre" if the fact of the matter is whatever quality it may be is your personal interpretation? Like, how do you ever expect to discuss entertainment if you're not willing to make the concession that there's some room for explaining why you like or dislike something?

There's reason to share opinions, but some opinions are not really worth discussing. For example, waifu wars; it's fun to shitpost about your waifu and talk trash about another person waifu, but it's complete 100% pointless to ARGUE with complete seriousness about whose waifu is best. It's insane.
>Like, how do you ever expect to discuss entertainment if you're not willing to make the concession that there's some room for explaining why you like or dislike something?
There are plenty of things to discuss in VNs, and there are many approaches on how to discuss these things, however, talking about which art one personally likes is a completely different subject from that. I doubt anyone says "I like Watamote's art" with a huge art critic mindset behind it, so it's not like there's going to be good discussion from that. Focus on the things worth discussing. And heck, discussing art is fine, just don't approach it from "like" or "dislike" and expect anything good from it.
>>
>>14431414
I like Watamote's art because I love girls with black circles around their eyes who look like they've been fished out of a dumpster, and most of the art is of the main heroine.

Did they changed the writer from the first game? Seriously I didnt expect this much drop of quality, everything seems so unnatural and just a bad copy of the original game.

First of all, While in first game Mc actually did something for making heroines fall in love with him, in this one he just does nothing and girls are still falling in love with him anyway, specially Tateha and Mashiro. This is a really big minus for me, since I just cant feel any bond between mc and any of the heroines. For example Tateha, Man we talked with her only 20, maybe 25 sentence so far and she is already in love with mc. +MC's "noo I have my magical anime character I only like her" shit is pure annoyance.

Also it feels like they couldnt write anything good so just filled entire common route with Michi since everyone likes her. But it just doesn't work, Yeah at first it was nostalgic but half of the fucking common route is how she spoils mc which becomes pretty boring.

I think I'll still play the Alicetia's route, and its not that bad actually but definitely not at the same page with the first game. So far it is a pretty disappointment.

>>14431720
The Ojou one was bad? Fuck it was on my backlog too.
>>
>>14431735
It's the worst one out of the bunch in my opinion, Couldn't even make it past a single route. The protagonist is insufferable and comes off as nothing but a annoying brat. I could even put up with spamming the massaging button on almost every single dialogue line in order to maximize bust size in the other games despite how tedious it was, but that brat was just too much.

The interactions between the girls and the protag are also of a lower quality as well.
>>
>>14431768
Well that's disappointing. It looked fun from the OP too.
>>
>>14431768
To be more accurate the protagonist has a superiority complex and is hyper sensitive about his height. His dialogue is just painful to read outside of the sex scenes and in effect ruins the game in the process. He's also rather mean spirited towards the girls that simply hold no ill intent towards him
>>
Did anyone else have a hard time self inserting in sakuuta?
I think the protagonist is too much of an actual character so it feels like I'm watching him have sex in the third person.
>>
Is To Heart 2 xrated the only version on pc? Did they ever release a version with the console characters included?
>>
>>14431650
I agree on most of your points, but keep in mind that Tateha and Mashiro's routes were the worst. I rather enjoyed Usagi's route. Alice's was okay.

About the writers, they're the same but they gave more work to Oumiya this time. But my main suspicion is that they wanted to ride on the popularity of PxH 1 and thought it was enough if they made enough references to it. The lack of substance is noticeable in the common route; I remember PxH1 had an election over a new topic every chapter.
>>
>>14431692
White Album?
>>
>>14431925
Not him, but my biggest issue with Usagi's route was there wasn't really a long enough break in between the Play, and the main drama of the route kicking in, so the whole route felt like mostly build up with minimal emotional pay off.
That and the actual resolution of drama felt kind of poorly handled I guess.

The story elements are the same, but they really turned down the tension and edginess more in line with the rest of the VNs. They also inserted those chibi scenes to break the tension even more. Personally, I felt that they turned something with its own feel into just another Age game.

Yeah I definitely agree with you, They didnt put work in it as much as PxH 1 for sure. You can really see it in entire common route, in almost all heroines etc etc. I dont think I will never play Tateha & Mashiro routes since both of them are just a shitty clone of Yuzuki & Kanna.

Also I didn't mention it in my other post, but the tease towards to Alicetia is one of the dumbest shit I have ever seen. What the fuck are they, kindergartner? They are just screaming omg jastin devil will curse us, runn runn in entire common route. Who the hell thought this as a good idea? Its not funny, its not enjoyable, its dumb as fuck and annoying. Well in the end they sold it well thanks to pre orders but Marmalade become a bad moege company again, at least in my eyes. I was going to buy PxH2 if I liked it since I actually liked first one and wanted to support them, now I'll spend my money on Amakano 2 or Tsuyokiss Festival.

I also like seeing other characters' reactions to the relationship between the protagonist and routegirl.

I'm not talking about plot so much as everything else. The writing is really not hitting the mark, the ero has been incredibly forced (which I expected), and the combat uninteresting.

The plot is quite interesting, but nothing else is.
>>
>>14433740
I suppose what I really mean is that it feels like both the plot and setting are providing a framework for a great VN, but the writing so far isn't capitalizing on it at all, making it feel very mediocre.

I have to say I'm surprised I feel like that, since I quite enjoyed the main writer's other stuff.

>>14433969

>>14433967
>>14433985
They all can reject you. You decide when to confess. If you fuck it up, she rejects you and you have one more opportunity. If you fuck up again they reject you again a bit more harshly and the game ends.

This one is Yuuki's second rejection scene. The others aren't like this, Yuuki is specially harsh because she's MC's childhood friend and is bad at measuring her words. We can see this "say something stupid and try to fix it/apologize after the fact" pattern several times, but she does go overboard in this scene. You can see she's trying to fix her wording but fails.

ナデレボ!.jpg

Finished Suzuri's route in ナデレボ!. The game was fun and goofy which was nice. Most of the characters were fairly cliche but the antics and interactions between them were great. I did feel like some of them (Moegi) were starting to get a little tiring, but they never got to be too bad.

The parts I liked the most was how each scene itself was short so it didn't feel like it dragged on too much, though it does slow down a bit in the route. I also liked how the route played out: rather than the MC and Suzuri just going off and being a couple, it felt more like Suzuri was joining into the MC's group of friends which was great. This helped Suzuri to open up to others as well as helped with Rushia's problem. I really enjoyed this and it felt a lot more natural. I would've liked to see some more ichaicha scenes with just the main couple though, to balance it out better. Seeing Suzuri embarassed was great, so I would've liked to have seen some more.

As for the bad parts the ending drama section was just awful. The "villain" character just appears before the end to cause problems. It feels so out of place with barely any lead up to it; the core cause of the drama is mentioned maybe twice, and more as footnotes. I can't complain about the results and how it ended up, but it just felt so forced. Had they shown some more tension between the teachers and Suzuri before it might have worked, but I still don't think it was very engaging. They also had the theme of changing naturally and not forcing oneself to be different, which sometimes was shown well, while at other times characters just repeated the phrase in quick succession for seemingly no reason. It was nice that they had this kind of broader message, but it wasn't developed enough. It was partly the fault that the MC just had practically no personality; I can't think of much to describe him outside of "nice guy". Music was average and the art was nice, kind of reminds me of Clochette.

Overall just a goofy fun game. Nothing amazing or groundbreaking but for a moege enjoyable. Probably won't read the other routes though, only other girl I liked was Rushia and I don't think I can take that fake American accent; I learned my lesson from Pretty x Cation.

I have to say. This is one of the most unexpected disappoints I've ever had. Putting aside the quality of the game; when I watched the OP movie I thought "oh hell yes fighting side by side with allies, that is my jam", I absolutely love cliche fantasy shit wherein a group of heroes fight together against impossible odds. A band of brothers! However, what is this shit. Not only is this tokage ossan NOT your friend or allie at this point, but this scene ALSO occurs extremely early in game. 0 bonding, 0 brotherhood, 100% "check out this cool CG". Goddamn. What a low-blow frontwing. This has shattered my expectations. I was somewhat envisioning a grand epic fantasy story, I guess, in some form, but now all I have are visions of 20 hours of fantasy quasi-monmusu harem hijinks a la Grisaia. Well, it's too early to tell. But for now, I have very little anticipation for a good and hearty story (in the common route, at least).

This was probably in the trial but I did not play the trial and so it came out of nowhere.
