Pretty fitting description of it alright. Blood Starved Beast was giving me trouble a few months ago in the first playthrough I started, but I beat him second go this time. Most annoying part about him is the fact that he launches across the screen at 300MPH after attacks so most of the time you're just left swinging at nothing

I don't think I'd invite anyone as judgmental as that into my room to begin with. That's schoolyard sort of thinking to believe someone invited into your house would start looking down on you for having a common item in your bedroom instead of living room, that's generally not how functioning adults work.

There is no true Irish city though, that's the problem. All Irish cities are basically overgrown towns - they don't feel like cities like the ones you find elsewhere in Europe. Now, with the smaller cities, that can be a good thing - Cork and Galway are perfect for people who don't want to live in a big city but still want the amenities that proper urban living affords. The problem with Dublin is that it's fucking huge compared to the other cities in the country, but operates like a town on steroids. Public transport, public amenities, planning regulations, and infrastructure maintenance are woefully insufficient for an urban area the size of Dublin. Hence why it's an ugly, dirty mess with shit infrastructure.

>>76988198
Madrid and Barcelona are great, with fantastic public transport and are a hell of a lot clearner and aesthetic than Dublin.

I always find it ironic that people from outside of Dublin label the entire county a shithole with no nice areas that's seemingly a free for all as soon as the sun goes down yet simultaneously complain about the 'disconnect' it has with the rest of the country. And I think it's funny all it took is some random Spaniard staying in some random housing estate in the North inner city to highlight it.

Non-Dubliners from more rural areas of the country always tend to have some chip on their shoulder about people from Dublin for some reason. I used to have an ex-girlfriend from Cork and her dad disliked without even having met me purely going on prior knowledge that I was from Dublin, whereas I didn't give a shit where he was from.

Dublin is grand lads, you're never stuck for anything to do. You can go to the theater, head to a gig, go for a nice dinner in a fancy restaurant/get a Burger King or McDonalds into ye, hit the cinema, go to the beach, go shopping in any number of shopping centres, choose from hundreds of pubs to have a pint, go for a picnic in a nice park, stall it to a museum/art gallery or get absolutely off your face on MDMA in a nightclub if it's more your preference. And it's all usually in walking distance or at most, a 20 minute bus or train ride away.

Thinking about it, Dublin doesn't even have a sports team for the city of any sort of international renown in any sport.
The closest thing would be Leinster and that's representing a province and 12 counties rather than just the city. Dublin don't have either of the top 2 league of Ireland teams despite being the most British fixated place on the island since they all seemingly support actual British teams instead of their own.

You're a local and now where to go and where to avoid, it doesn't render the criticism void when outsiders experience it in prominent parts of the city centre. It's undeniable that if you wander through the city centre on a Friday or Saturday evening you'll encounter swarms of loud and obnoxious stag or hen parties from the UK. Honestly, my problem with Dublin is less with the city and more with the people. I've always found them very rude, aggressive and with a derogatory view of those from other parts of the country.
I thought for a long time that was maybe just a perception of being in a strange city but honestly in my time in Cork city I've found the locals to be incredibly polite, friendly and well mannered. They give an impression that they're honoured to have me as an outsider working in their city while Dubs sneer and mock at the notion of someone from "the country" being in their presence. I know they're not all like that but an awful lot of them are.

A lot of it is banter, lad. I know people from outside of Dublin who I take the piss out of for being culchies and they do the same for me being a Dublin scumbag. I doubt anyone working in a shop in Dublin has outright 'sneered and mocked' you because they heard the sound of your voice, though.

Limerick is the most logical since it's our most central city, already has a large international airport and has loads of room to grow into Clare and Tipperary. It's near enough to Galway and Cork (with a motorway) to form a sort of corridor of major cities.
Dublins pretty much isolated in the east and with no room to expand anywhere.

They might consider that but I find it rude and confrontational particularly when we're strangers to one another. People in Cork or other parts of the country don't engage in that sort of "banter" or think it funny to mock where you're from. They might slag your GAA team but that's about it.

I disagree - it's too subjective. Whereas things like public transport and junkies are objective issues by which a city can be judged.

It's not really that subjective. These are aspects the likes of real estate agents even take into account when selling properties and advertising them. What would sound more appealing to the majority of prospective buyers when looking for a new area to live; 'train and bus to the city 5 minute walk away from your front door' or 'nearest supermarket 30 minute drive away'? There's nearly 2 million people living in this city and there's a lot of them doing stuff in the city centre outside of just working.

Thinking economically as well given it's a halfway point between Galway and Cork and also spills into other counties moreso than Galway given that the city itself is barely even in county Limerick.
Galway also doesn't have an international airport and is in close proximity to a lost of heritage and gaeltacht areas which probably don't want to become part of a metropolis.

>That's a very Dublin-centric attitude. I think the people of Clare and Tipp would be much happier for Limerick to expand within its own county bounds and not envelop and destroy Clare and Tipperary communities like Dublin did to Kildare in particular.
I have family in Celbridge who have seen it turn from a village into a bustling suburb in the space of 20 years and that's their view. There are pros and cons to it all of course but they're mostly glad that the city and the jobs have come to them rather than having to leave their home for work like so much of the rest of the country.

Limerick is already expanding into Clare anyway and they aren't too upset about it.

As long as it's not a case of a city from a neighbouring county expanding beyond the county boundary. I think most people would prefer a 30 minute commute rather than wake up and find their rural town/village enveloped by a city from a neighbouring county. Let Limerick expand South and West should it wish to do so.

Kilkenny people are a bunch of shitheads who never once gave to fucks about South kilkenny and Ferrybank which is essentially a small town/suburb of the city at this stage.
Kilkenny never gave two fucks about the Port, or any of the schools/communities in ferrybank. It's nothing like Kilkenny there. It's part of Waterford city and waterford benefits to and from it most.
