Because because because the wonderful thingy does
>>
Most countries haven't forgotten WWI.
Maybe it's less appealing to some because it doesn't have a dramatic 'good guys' and 'bad guys' narrative you can shove into it.
>>
>>75797307
>All modern events come from it

That's not how you spell the French Revolution
>>
Germany had shit allies
>>
>>75797713
what modern events have come from the french revolution?

It's kinda retarded

the Germans weren't white-supremacist, unlike the the war that came 20 years later

It doesnt make for exciting movies like ww2 does. Americans get most of their history from hollywood and hollywood doesnt make very many first world war films. Im sure euros learn far more about the war and we learned a lot about it during highschool but Americans were barely involved so of course you dont learn much about it.
>>
>>75797307
It certainly isn't forgotten about here in the UK or France.

There are WW1 memorials everywhere in the UK, seems like every small town has one seeing as many lost the entirety of their men.

WW1.

Because of the Hollywood effect. Ameritards and non-Europeans think USA was the hero of the WWII because of the movies. USAians weren't part of it so they think nobody cares about it.

WW2 didn't have "good guys" and "bad guys" unless you bought into jewish propaganda. If anything you and France are the bad guys for declaring war on Germany.

What did Japan do in WW1?

Yes, I'm aware you were going to start with all this, that's why I said read my post properly. WW2 has a narrative, you didn't contradict anything I said.

WWII had more civilian casualties/atrocities, but the battles weren't as big or as hellish as WWI, the Russian front aside. WWI battles redefined Hell--nothing else in human experience can quite compare. There's large areas of France still contaminated with heavy metals 100 years after the war.
>>
>>75797842
There was no point in fighting further. Their allies have capitulated, their army in retreat, or enticements, the defense line they dug got taken over and the allies got a fresh member with huge economic impact. Why let your men die further and your country shelled like the idiot Hitler

>>75804034
The Entente blockade actually had little to do with food shortages, which were mostly due to the disruption in Germany's transportation network caused by the war.
>>
>>75798991
What genocide?
>>
Because WW2 was pretty much it but more dramatic

In Australia we tend to emphasise the first over the second though since it was the first proper war we committed troops to and marked an important event in the establishment of a national identity beyond being English in the desert.
It's funny, since WW2 was far more important for Australians, since it was the first and only time Australia was actually at risk of being invaded and also caused the shift away from England and towards America in Australian foreign policy.

The memory of Germany's surrender and loss of territory in WW1 probably played a part with Hitler's suicidal willingness to not concede even when the Allied were knocking on Berlin's door...

Why don't people care about the Portuguese civil war? Or the 100 Spanish Civil Wars?

Nobody cares about civil wars that's not on their country. It wasn't relevant to anyone else, for the most part.
