The closest thing germans identify to unironically are the regional directions where they come from (north, west etc.) and often with that their dialect.
The biggest difference (as we see it) are the "old states", as we call them, those are the states that belonged to the DDR until 1990. Some believe they're still pretty separated in most things, which is true for some aspects. See pic related.
