I suppose you could in the future, I heard of someone in America that was diagnosed with autism as a child and got rediagnosed as an adult only for them to tell him that he was misdiagnosed. Just know it would be pretty tedious and not really worth it. You're a bit over paranoid with your fears of being sent off to the looney bin just because of a minor disorder. If anything having a diagnosis would help you if you ever want anti-depressants in the future. Also under no circumstances ask the people testing you if you can get undiagnosed, then they'll know you're putting it on.

I met with a psychiatrist and told him about the DARE scheme, he never heard about it but would look into it and fill out any form to get me into it. Now after that I discovered you need a proper diagnosis and I have a meeting again with the psychiatrist soon, so I don't know. Psychatrist probably looked at it and saw you need a proper diagnosis so maybe he'll level with me somehow, maybe I could get diagnosed but then have him strike me off by saying I got better or something. Psychiatrist said I don't really have GAD only partially or suspected. I don't want to have to deal with meeting with nurses and taking medication I don't want to etc. plus if you wanted to join the gardai or army or something along those lines would they have access to your records? surely? also knowing the level of it security in this country anyones medical records could be leaked any day

The college I want to get into has it. I don't know if it's worth it, I already set the wheels in motion and signed up though. They can't force you to take anything. You'll just have to meet with some psychologists and they'll essentially interview you.

Honestly yes. I may have answered a few questions a certain way but most I was completely honest for. I've always felt different than most people, whether that's how I was born or how I was raised I don't know.

Few months at least. I'm pretty sure I started before Christmas and wasn't done until April-ish. First the principal was talking to me about it and asked if I wanted it done, then I had a few meetings with a woman who came to the school, then I had some appointments with some people at an office who properly diagnosed me, then I had to send off the form.

It was actually a pretty long process. I'm sure some of it was unnecessary and you could do it way quicker. Looking back I'm not even sure what half the meetings were for.

Too fucking true. My social group in secondary school would have been about 10-15 people. Of those, I still see most of them a couple of times a year (Christmas and Summer mainly), but I'm only in regular contact with 4 of the original group.

On the surface this appears quite normal, but I acquired only one lasting friendship in college when all the other members of my secondary school social group greatly expanded their social circle during that time. As such, my social relevancy to them became diluted whereas they remained integral elements of my small social circle. And it's not like I'm making any work friends either (but that doesn't bother me).

It's bollock lad. Here's my blog. I was friends with some cunt who had trouble with making friends. He never had any. It was very obvious. I was hanging around with a big group of people when I was young. My brothers friends, and some that lived on my road but never him. When I was young I used to throw eggs at his house because he kept sitting outside my house staring in like some weirdo.

Anyway I saw one day that he didn't have friends so I went out on a limb and said fuck it. I'll try be nice and be his friend. I was nice we were friends for years to the point of me calling him my best friend. From that I was friends with some other lad up the road and us 3 got along alright for the most part.

Then one day I was put in the position to either hang out with my old friends or these two freaks. Stupidly I picked the freaks out of feeling sorry for them. Fast forward a few years we grow distant. The two freaks seem to hang out more and tend to not let me know on shit and even talk some really nasty stuff behind my back. They stayed in each others homes and shit for """sleep overs"""". One day one of them comes knocking to my door after months of hearing nothing from either of them. He say's the other guy was trying to get gay with him.

Through my time being "best friends" with them I was literally a therapist that they'd each come to tell me their problems and fix it. This time I told him to "figure it out yourself". A few days later I told them to fuck off and to this day it's been the best decision of my life.
