In England, I get the general impression that most people thing that what we did in Ireland wasn't right and we should all try to get along now.

I think the younger educated people in the Republic generally have the the same view as in England, but would probably like to see a united Ireland because they will have grandparents or great grandparents who fought for Independence

In Scotland it's different because there are people of Irish descent who are Catholic, so usually side with the republicans, where as the Protestants are generally Scottish and support the Loyalist movement. My Protestant Scottish grandad has said he's been to a few Orange Order marches in both Scotland and Northern Ireland
