Alright, so I've been trying to help out my friend here. She and a couple other Discord buddies are hell-bent on saying these circular boobs are right because of "clothing" and "bras," when basically everything else has told me boobs are never circular. How would I explain this to them? I tried to say that the boob don't connect to the armpit and posted a couple picture guides, but their shimmery basically amounts to "not all boobs are that shape bro."

(And yes I told her she shouldn't be monetizing her art at her level but whatever.)

Feels like you're trying to rush into the rendering stage. Slow down and think about drawing form before you start to paint it. Also try to think aboot what she's doing. I don't really know what she's trying to do/ what kind of character this is/ what kind of emotion you're going for here. The other anons pointed that out as well.

Hey, all, I do animations.

But I'm a bit fucked on knowing my light sources. Does anyone know any good reads or references that would help? Also, how can I fix the lighting on the figure in this image? Still working on the post and the background, but the light source on the character is bugging the hell out of me.

Really? It's a still frame asking about a light source, dumbass, not a series of moving pictures.

Source is too high for the shadow, if you want it looking like that then lower the light source until it's pretty much perpendicular to the side of the face. But if that's where your light source is, then adjust it so that there's more of a glow towards the top of the head and not the side of the face.

when drawing chibi i guess there isn't a golden rule to follow about proportions since is sd , but if you you make some things bigger or smaller you can fuck up your whole drawing , like putting the eyes too close making it look more like a childish face rather than a exaggerated moeblob , try too look at more refs about chibis . also theres another mistake about the eyes the pupils don't go in the middle/centre of the eye/sclera when looking straight they go a bit more inwards since they are focusing on a point in front of the middle of both eyes , and something more about the chibi stuff the eyes usually are pretty close to the border of the face , learn more about the eyes there's more errors but my shitty english is limited , hopefully it helped you.

i think the head and face looks more like a regular one , usually chibis have really small jaws and the nose is almost at the same height with the eyes giving them that pancake head also you should keep the proportions on the neck it looks off compared to the rest of the body

Don't be lazy on the hands. His left arm's bigger than the right, and both arms are too short. Check your proportions again. Also Everything's just flat, widen the range of your values to better imply form. Furthermore, your lines need more variation. Use thicker lines as muscles near their insertion points. With that out of the way, I'd like to commend your head. It's bretty good and it really shows your understanding of forms (of the head). Keep it up.

Study more neck/collar bone anatomy. Her cloth's too thick. And the top of her bangs should be higher; right now her forehead's too small. Also, should have went with the fading effect on the ends of her hair. With all of that said, it's bretty decent. Choice of colors isn't half bad.

Can I get some feedback? Regarding maybe the angle views ? The flow and the movement of the camera ? I read alot of manga and watched alot of animation movies.There's alot of documentaries out there about how certain animation movies were made and documentaries about mangakas and their workflow , how they arrange their panels and camera angle and so on. Most of the time ,when i make comics ,i like to imagine everything as an animation movie of sorts , each and every panel technically would be a animated sequence. I also did some animations before starting comics , so i think that helped a bit . I'm not that good tho , this is why i came to ask for advice.

Looks like you know what you're doing. Watch out for those tangents against the BG though. The way the hat, hair, and heels are lined up with the BG confuses my eyes.

Taking what I learned from those manga practices, I'm now doing urban shots from photographs and trying to stylize them in manga style.

Still not fully satisfied with it, but I'll keep working at it. I gotta fix my "sloppiness" I think that's my biggest weakness thus far.

I'm gonna ink some characters, then go back to doing more studies and manga practices before tackling some full OC pages of my own.

Though that guy's criticism isn't worded the best (it's /ic/ what can you do), there is some truth there. The heads are definitely the main thing that takes away from your artwork. Improving the head shape could change your art from "shitty kid on deviant art" to "sexy anime art"
