Is there any daily drawing community other than LAS? I'm looking for something that's not abandoned and /ic/-based. Could be something like inktober but all year round.

reddit has /r/sketchdaily and there might be others. I think /r/dailydraw or something is also going.

Las isn't too bad tho, it's been abandoned by the developer but the site is self sustaining and it's been developed to the point where it can get the job done. Also I think the average skill level and amount of art knowledge is probably higher on /ic/ compared to reddit. There are only a few decent artists in every thread. Aside from the lack of site progress, LAS is going fairly strong in terms of # of user submissions.

jozu here, i spent a fair amount of time backtracking on that, dulled it down hard to desaturate it then didn't like it so went back to the original.

i know and admit its not a good improvement for 30 minutes. im having a lot of trouble with the color and i think im gonna set it aside for a while.

But I did spend 30 minutes on it. Its subtle and still not a good improvement, but if you look at both of them side by side you can see the difference. Pushed a lot of the reds, changed up the ear, expanded it down to reveal a tie and more suit, cleaned up the mouth a bit, changed his jaw and neck.

Again, I know its shitty. I've never claimed to be good. But I did spend 30 minutes on it.

Can someone give me a pointer?

I'm Fiddleback on the site and I wound up having my aircraft fit into perspective differently than I intended; I wanted it to be close, but it seems like it's swooping in front of the viewer's field of view rather than heading in the direction of your gaze, I think. Perhaps my eyes are playing tricks on me.

I'd originally intended to have the image be one-point perspective set in a canyon area, but in trying to figure out how to place rock formations I wound up adding another vanishing point and seeing how buildings (or shitty prisms in my case) fit it fine. I think the jet being drawn when it was in OPP makes trying to start a TPP background look off.

I figured out why I failed with getting the perspective the way I wanted to with the jet.

I drew the jet as if you are looking directly up at it but used that image and aligned it with the vanishing point as if it were two dimensional. That is not the case.

I didn't actually align the jet with the vanishing point, just my idea of how the jet should already look.
I did intend to have it mid-maneuver, but I'm currently displaying an aircraft along along XZ with zero Y axis depth. Pic realted.

I fooled myself by having the centerline of the improperly drawn aircraft be perpendicular to the Y axis. It aligned with the guideline.
