I have a vendetta against adware (as in, programs with ads) but just going off its base features it's okay. I'd recommend it over SAI actually which more use. Definitely switch to FireAlpaca if you're using SAI and want something lightweight that has more features (mesh transform, elipses, etc) and is still built for drawing.

It's very lightweight but manages to pack in the stuff you'd want. My biggest issue isn't the ads though, just that while it has very intuitive built in perspective tools, they aren't really fleshed out enough. if you could just drop in extra radial snaps for 2 and 3 point perspective grids, I might use it. Right now it can do 1 point and can be set up to do 3 point with the 3D tools (which are very impercise) but god help you if you want to do 2-point perspective. It could also use a lot more documentation, there is no manual atm.

As is now though I'd rather just use Manga Studio which comes with some nice automagic perspective tools plus a lot of other stuff FA doesn't have. Not as light weight and slightly more laggy at high resolutions but the pros outway the cons.

Cost not really a factor in my thinking here btw Manga Studio I pirated. So it's a free full featured program without ads versus a free program with ads and half assed features.

When I was a wee lad I only had a mac and this was my only option for strokes with pressure.(I have windows and photoshop now) So im real familiar with it.

Cons-
-Re-sizing things is impossible if you want to keep any kind of quality
-A lot of normal tools i had to go looking for. Like the navigator and diffrent superior color wheel.
-Key binding just doesnt work. At least I couldn't get it to.
-Stabilizer doesnt work as well as it should.
-Select tool doesnt work as well as sai and photoshop. Its kinda frustrating so I colored in sai.

Pros-
-Really good for painting with the right settings.
-Pressure works really good.
-Good for line art and doodles.
-Luminosity looks like bright color instead of just the color white
-Good for digital beginners

Is it better than photoshop/sai? No. Is it horrible and useless? No.
Try it idk.

Used by the french professional artists like Balak so I think it's good.

I previously had a pirated manga studio too, until i upgraded my mac to Sierra and it fucked it all to hell. Made me re enter the authorization key, but the keygen I downloaded with it now wouldn't run on sierra.

So I bit the bullet and outright bought clip studio paint, and it's sooo much better than the buggy piece of shit the pirated version was. It doesn't lag nearly as much with big brushes, and the text tools which were fucked before and would consistently clip off half the last letter, now work perfectly.

so if you have lag problems, maybe it would be a good idea to buy the program. I didn't realize how much I was hamstringing myself before. Just the $50 version is all you need.
