This. But ultimately I really don't think anyone takes him too seriously. He doesn't cite sources, true, but he explains his reasoning in an understandable and, most importantly, ENTERTAINING manner. Every other historical youtuber out there either reeks of permavirgin autism or can't explain something clearly and with charisma to save their life. Lindy lacks actual knowledge and evidence to back his points up but at least he can capture your attention for more than 30 seconds without stuttering, rambling or having to heavily edit his recordings to make them legible.

Honestly anyone watching Youtube videos for historical analysis outside of things like physical reenactments deserves what they get. It's entertainment, that's all.

Matt is better. Actually cites shit and doesn't make wild claims. The problem with trying to logically understand everything in history without sources is that people don't always behave logically so you can't just assume "it was done this way because it makes the most sense" when people don't necessarily do what makes the most sense.

At least when Matt argues something was unlikely, that's as far as he goes: "unlikely." He doesn't make sweeping claims like Lindy.
