the Euro (not the EU) is a bad idea.
Those countries relied on periodical devaluations to make their industry competitive, and they cant do that anymore.

On the other side the Euro is good for Germany because a country that exports so much with huge superavits like them, would see their currency revalue greatly under normal circumstances, making their exports less competitive.

the situation was very different in the 90s before the Euro.

-contracts in Euros are broken, so a lot of lawsuits.
it would be a situation similar to the 2001 Argentine crisis, and that is what has kept EURO countries inside the EU.

the other big problem is they have extremly low birth rates, comparable to Japan.

Anything is better than Northern and Central Europe atm with all the Islamism and radical feminism and privilege checking and mass surveillance.
