How did the Cromwell stack up against the German Panzer IV tank, or Italian and Japanese tanks?
Was it the equal of, or better than, the American Sherman or Soviet T-34?

Italian and Japanese tanks were absolute shit, so they barely merit a mention.
The Cromwell, being a heavy tank, could probably beat either the Sherman or T-34, as they're both medium tanks. However, it also probably is more expensive, uses more fuel, etc.

Hence why so many British armored units operated M4s instead of their own Cromwell.
