I've been watching many documentaries and doing lots of searching on this topic, anon, and I must say it caught my attention. I guess I'd like to start with the way pornography alters the mind.

We start with normal categories and move farther and farther off of the normal, sound familiar?

As an anon said earlier, an addiction is defined by a habit that interferes with every day life. There are university studies being done now that the first youth generation of the internet is reaching adulthood, as they are finding more and more cases of ED in ages as young as 20. As many of you are familiar, the brains "reward chemical" is dopamine, we usually get it when listening to good music or having a good conversation or eating. By overstimulating ourselves, we flood dopamine levels in the brain and eventually find it hard to achieve enjoyment in other normal pleasures of the day; often resulting in depression. In fact, they've tested individuals with brain scans as they are shown pornography, and the maps look very similar to that of drug addiction. (that may be really general but I'm going by memory)

my advise, not that I accomplished much with it so far, but maybe someone can make something out of it.

- Search of hobby, be active in any way. If you are gonna sit for four hours or more everday infront of the PC, and you are more or less porn/fap addicted, it will happen everytime. Its just too easy and tempting. So you need activities that keep you away from the screen.
For me, even watching a movie on my televesion helps. Im not at the PC, and have my mind on something else.
- you have to get a least a little bit social. At least some people you have contact with from time to time and see in real life.
- going back to the hobby. If your hobby doesnt involve physical excercise, do some work out/cardio, whatever. You'll feel better about your body, you wont have the urge to release stress with fapping when you burn off enegery with sport. Its not that you wont get horny, but at least helps you get horny on a natural way. Not by a gazillion BBCs in some qts face.

Im not a fan of that whole "no fap", because it makes you believe you lose, even if you make some progress. Maybe it works wonders, but read from a lot of people that they failed.
