Can't respond on willingly absent dads, but as someone who lost his dad in early childhood I can tell you it fucks with you. You don't really know who to pattern your masculinity on, you don't know if what you're doing is right. Alright bros... I don't really expect any help, but I'd just like to speak my story of literally the past 5 hours.

I took my mom's car (yes I still live with her) for a drive tonight, and although I have my license I'm not covered under her insurance, and of course I go and fucking crash it into a parked car which scoots forwards and hits another parked car.

I currently have a $547 ticket for careless driving (keep in mind I don't have a job)

My mom has two options. Option one is to simply pay out of her pocket the tens of thousands in repairs to both parked cars and her own, as insurance won't cover it. That would be fine, except we are a broke ass family. Paycheck to paycheck living kind of family.

Her second option is to charge me for theft over $5k... Her only real option is to send her own son to jail for up to ten years, because then the insurance will pay for damages, as it was a stolen car.

Fuck, death has never been more inviting. I guess I just kinda want to have interactions. Tell me what you think, I guess.

I get a call from my dad to go check my uncle. He had been a huge part of my life and I grew up I idolized him but he was a alcoholic and towards the end I thought tough love would work on him so I was mean to him and avoided him.
