The old addons are fucked yes but there will be new ones. More importantly if there's ever a substantial update to firefox in the future the new addons will not be in the way and be rendered broken after the change. Mozilla will be free to work on firefox like everyone wants and users will never have to worry about their addons breaking again after this.

Most of the biggest addons have already been ported, and Mozilla is still expanding the API's capabilities. There will be a few causalities, but most everything works. Take your head out of the sand

I'd say it's quite impressive for it's uptime already.
>>
>>62256084
Was that a popular option? Because at that time addons were able to customize the interface. I never edited CSS files for Firefox until now.

With 57's UI overhaul and addons no longer being able to customize the interface, it makes sense that a subreddit is just now popping up for userChrome.css entries.
>>
>>62256163
most people used userstyles through stylish, and that code works perfectly in userchrome.css.
You were already doing it, just not realizing.
>>
>>62256183
I never used stylish :*

>the old css code works perfectly in 57
Wow I guess Mozilla performed a complete UI overhaul without changing anything. Amazing
>>
>>62256183
WebExtensions cannot directly affect the browser chrome like before so stylish isn't as capable as it was but its still possible to mess with the chrome through the browser toolbox which is built into firefox now. You can experiment in real time and save the changes to a file. I think the changes are only temporary if you don't save them to a userChrome.css file.
>>
>>62256224
Their 'complete UI overhaul' was just changing the CSS rules.
>>
>>62256351
Right, the interface is just CSS. Duh?

I don't think the jews were saved. I'm not /pol/ either but watch a few war documentaries and you might have a different opinion.

Personally I don't think jews run the world. It's about the same as saying that white's control technology. White people are forefront in tech historically but just because you're white doesn't mean you know shit about tech, but might be related to someone who does. Same as being a Jew. You might control huge finances or you might be a slacker musician, but might be related to someone who controls massive finances.

Live in the big city. You find that personality types are more important than geneology.

Some things I don't like.

1. When you try to save an image it doesn't include the extension, so you have to manually type ".jpg" or ".png" when saving images.

2. On mobile it doesn't play full-screen videos (this is probably just my phone, not sure)

3. The bookmarks menu is so convoluted. Does anyone use Pocket? Do we really need three folders (Bookmarks toolbar, other bookmarks, and mobile bookmarks)

4. ublock Origin sometimes fails to block ads on Twitch.

Other than that it's fantastic and I have no regrets moving away from Chrome.

> Unfortunately, there are many limitations due to limited or absent Web Extension APIs. As a web extension, this add-on will never be as powerful as FireGestures. This extension cannot integrate into about:newtab, about:home, view-source:, etc. Nor will it work on addons.mozilla.com, since web extensions are forbidden from interacting with the add-on store. Mouse gestures don't work until the DOM has parsed.

Hahahahaha, it's true.
I never switched to Chrome because it didn't have a proper gestures extension. Google's solution it seems is to corrupt Firefox instead of making Chrome good.

Holy shit guys I made an amazing breakthrough just now. Firefox team managed to make their browser somewhat faster by removing part of functionality, but what I did here is I got rid of all functionality entirely, I just download a picture of a Firefox logo, and I sit and stare at it. It does not do anything that's expected from Forefox browser, but by gods, it is so fast and responsive!
>>
Firefox was the last mainstream browser to be free in spirit.
It was truly modifiable through add-ons, which could come from anywhere. From the lack of limitations sprung many new concepts for how we interact with and use the web.

That time is over. In the future you'll either have to fork an entire browser or deal with an organization that might not want your ideas. Both of these are difficult tasks - especially if you can't put in hours upon hours of your free time. So we'll be restricted by whatever APIs they deem to be "enough".

Developers of vim-like extensions pushed for a new api that allows keyboard capture anywhere in the browser and allows those extensions to handle input before anything else.
They are getting it.

If you want your gesture memes back you should do something about it. Or you could just use keyboard shortcuts like any other sane person.
