It's fast already but Mozilla has not even enabled the new parallelized styling system, the new GPU accelerated rendering engine, or the new cooperatively scheduled javascript engine. The next few versions of Firefox are going to bring huge improvements in performance.

More importantly if there's ever a substantial update to firefox in the future the new addons will not be in the way and be rendered broken after the change. Some things I don't like.

1. When you try to save an image it doesn't include the extension, so you have to manually type ".jpg" or ".png" when saving images.

2. On mobile it doesn't play full-screen videos (this is probably just my phone, not sure)

3. The bookmarks menu is so convoluted. Does anyone use Pocket? Do we really need three folders (Bookmarks toolbar, other bookmarks, and mobile bookmarks)

4. ublock Origin sometimes fails to block ads on Twitch.

Other than that it's fantastic and I have no regrets moving away from Chrome.

It is. I started using it again about two months ago.

The only thing I miss are Chrome's dev tools. Sure, firefox developer edition has some nice things chrome doesn't have, like the grid inspector, but Chrome's are still years ahead.

Holy shit guys I made an amazing breakthrough just now. Firefox team managed to make their browser somewhat faster by removing part of functionality, but what I did here is I got rid of all functionality entirely, I just download a picture of a Firefox logo, and I sit and stare at it. It does not do anything that's expected from Forefox browser, but by gods, it is so fast and responsive!

Firefox was the last mainstream browser to be free in spirit.
It was truly modifiable through add-ons, which could come from anywhere. From the lack of limitations sprung many new concepts for how we interact with and use the web.

That time is over. In the future you'll either have to fork an entire browser or deal with an organization that might not want your ideas. Both of these are difficult tasks - especially if you can't put in hours upon hours of your free time. So we'll be restricted by whatever APIs they deem to be "enough".
