I don't get it
What is the history of the /sqt/ threads and the /dpt/ ones and all the other ones that there are
Are they like automatic bots that make this kind of shit?
I really hate those motherfuckers that make those threads and people keep shitting onto my face with the replies of ">>>/g/sqt/" and shit like that
Those threads are like a tradition you shouldn't be forced to post in them
Is this like a thing on 4chan that has been here for years and don't know about it or what?

if you click the link
>>>/g/sqt
you can find the thread where other people post stupid questions and people might not hate you as much.
You can also go to https://boards.4chan.org/g/sqt and it will search for it too.
The concept is fairly recent, but I can't remember when it started.
It is not (usually) bots who create the threads, it is just sheer convenience as it makes the threads easier to find.
If there is a category you dislike, you can filter them out.

General threads were popularized by boards like /v/ (to the point where the tensions between people who enjoyed the general formats and the non-general formats caused moot intervention in the form of /vg/). And after /prog/ died general /g/ threads didn't facilitate the programming chats at all. Especially with the culture established in prog.
>sqt
It's pretty awful. I certainly don't feel it's appropriate to direct every question to a general thread. That'd make sense if /g/ had good discussions between intelligent people in general (like some specialist topic forums or mailing lists). As it stands with /sqt/ it discourages general discussions on a topic simply by format.
And even if you hide these threads you will be harmed by them because they leech content away from the threads.
But far above all this is a greater issues. People who complain about 'blogposts' in general threads. They're completely counter to image board culture in ways they don't even understand (I think).
HOLY FUCKING SHIT /g/ IS SO BAD THAT PEOPLE DONT EVEN COMPLAIN ABOUT THE DESKTOP AND BATTLESTATION THREADS HAHA THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT THE PROGRAMMING THREADS WE HAVE TURNED A CORNER ON THE REACHES OF THE DEPTHS OF OUR SQUALAR
