Anything wrong with this setup?
>DVD drive
>4tb SSD
>32gb ram
seems overkill
>for mining
Enjoy your brick when eth goes PoS

Won't be mining eth desu. I will mine shitcoins from the bitcointalk forums that haven't reached exchanges yet.

Yeah, with the dvd I though would get a good one as they are quite cheap. For the 4tb ssd, how is that not sexy? 32gb, perhaps. I would just like to have a high ceiling, no limits. I am a bit of a noob.

It is a sexy waste of money. Get a 1tb SSD and a big guy HDD.

Top retard.

A 4 TB ssd seems a little extreme if you ask me, SSD tends to be for programs not storage, at least in my machine, so id have gotten an m.2 ssd for boot, a 256 or 512gb for programs and then a couple of 2tb hdds for storage...butit depends how your going to use the machine. also, spending more than £50 on a case is just throwing money away.
Id also keep mining on a seperate rig, that way it wont interfere with whatever else your doing and you can leave it running all the time. If you do as i suggested with the storage you could easily afford a seperate system for the 480s.
Dont know enough about threadripper to really comment but i thought it was more for servers and business...what do you want the PC for other than mining?
>>61641221
get 700w psu for main system get another 700w for 3x crossfire, using same psu for whole system can fuck up everything if something go wrong.

That's Epyc not Threadripper

Bait

This just confuses me even more. I thought it was the various flavours of ryzen for home users and TR for servers...but if thats EPYC then where does threadripper fit in???
>>61641221
well the main problem is that this setup is from the future, that shit ain't available yet.
the other thing is an advice: make sure the optical drive can burn m-discs.
>>61643382
Threadripper is consumer EPYC.
EPYC is generally muktisocket. (With a few single socket SKUs)
Threadripper is locked to single socket.

Buy Windows for like 10€ from eBay

>mining
>>61643087
Yeah I might do a seperat rig for mining, in which case I want to buy a beast GPU. What is the best GPU going?
I will use the computer for general internet stuff, including some light software for work and a touch of runescape and maybe some other gaming. I essentially just want a beast with a high ceiling, little limits.
>>61643242
Will prob take your advice.
>>61643456
Will make sure it can do M-discs.
The other shit is out next month I think.
>>61643747
ty will look into it

Gr8 b8 m8. Also you'd need a better PSU
