Only thing that's really changed is the side rails looking nicer b/c I smoothed them out a bit with a scotch-brite pad.

The black/white contrast was on purpose, actually. Same reason the PSU is white.

Your pic was so blurry I didn't even know it was an M1, lol. Also the cheapest SLR will always take better pictures than the most expensive phone. MP doesn't really matter since we are just taking it to post shit. But you'd want to get a good light sensor since we rarely leave the basement.

>>
>>61439875
During summer on my 6700k at 4.5/1.29V ~77C running Prime95 (AVX version), or ~60C during gaming.
GPU goes to roughly 78C (GTX 1080 overclocked and overvolted to 2050 Mhz sustained boost and 10500 Mhz memory)
If the case had better airflow temps would drop a bit, but I'm fine with this.
>>
>>61439920
time to pull out the drill my man.
>>
>>61428702
Not him but I think I recognise it, if so then there's no Windows 10 support for it. Everything else (win 7, Linux etc) works fine.

>>61429233
You shouldn't have a system with the PSU intake on the bottom on a carpet like that. Nice blue lighting BTW.

>>61429557
Tell us about that case, is it quiet? I love my R5 and like how that one looks but I find the lack of HDD space disturbing.

>>61430131
Wow, triple bracket GPU, rare. Wish it wasn't, though. I'd take a massive heatsink like that over loud fans any day.
>>
>>61428702
There is cm81** PCI cards, which have perfect driver support on every currently maintained OS (and for both linux sound systems - oss4 and alsa - too).

I'm using pci Aureal Vortex 2 and it works perfectly with oss4.
>>
>>61439985
>Wow, triple bracket GPU, rare. Wish it wasn't, though. I'd take a massive heatsink like that over loud fans any day.
Except that the new Asus Strix heatsink has worse performance than the previous one (used on gtx970/980/ti at least) and is louder too.
>>
>>61439920
>During summer on my 6700k at 4.5/1.29V ~77C running Prime95 (AVX version), or ~60C during gaming.
The jokes on you, when 2600k with higher vcore runs cooler. Put the heatsink directly on the die or at least use liquid metal between the die and heatspreader.
>>
>>61440040
uhhh way to pull that out of your ass. Every test on youtube proves that to be entirely false and even gamer nexus has asus strix 1080 ti on top for cooling performance/quietness for heatsink coolers.
>>
>>61439985
The noise level isn't bad. I bought the windowed version so it is louder then the none windowed, however I haven't been annoyed by my PCIE jet engine. It stays relatively silent. They could have added more hdd space but it would be fine if you cram 3 xTerabyte drives in there. There is space for an additional 3 ssds though that can be mounted on a plate right behind the motherboard.

Uhm, Anandtech review at least doesn't agree with you and neither does my personal experience with Strix 980 vs. Strix 1080: the cpu die and vram on the latter runs hotter, the fans are louder at least by 5db. In the same case, with same other components obviously. Quite achievement, since the 1080 has lower TDP even. Temperatures dropped couple degrees after changing paste.

>Every test on youtube proves that to be entirely false
Yeah, link to one.
And I'm very sorry for your expensive toy to be decadent, but hardly my fault.

Also: the Strix heatsink used on 970/980/ti has only two fans compared to three of the newer design. For example, the Gigabyte 'Windblower' (or what the fuck was it called) cooler used on their 980/ti models has pretty similar performance to the new Strix heatsink, with same caveats of being larger, louder and less efficent. This design on Anandtech showed very good temperatures though, but that is not my experience and I have two Gigabyte 980's and one Ti.

>the Strix heatsink used on 970/980/ti has only two fans compared

You can't even get your facts straight just shows you're blowing smoke out of your ass. the strix 980ti uses 3 fans and it nearly the same thing as what they are using currently.

>Yeah, link to one.
do you now know how to google? and you've yet to supply any links yourself. I gave you a reputable source GN also OC3D is another one.

>>spend $150 on a case, one of the least important parts
heh, I'll defend this. I've built many computers since the i386 came out and I've had many cases in my time.

Spending $200 on a really good case you can have years and years makes total sense to me, it's totally better than spending $50 on some piece of trash four times.
>>
>>61440383
Typically a good (expensive) case will have some extra abilities making them better to work in.
And if you bought a good case in the mid 90's, you can still use it today. (Although it might not have that much noise dampening as newer cases)
>>
>>61440366
Wow, how about you clean your panties first?
The first Strix Ti had identical heatsink and fan configuration compared to the 980 model. The three fan model came after and that I don't have.
I have Asus STRIX 980, 980 Ti, 1080 and Gigabyte Windforce 980 (the one with backplate).

I gave you Anandtech. Check the fucking temperatures and desibels for Strix 980 vs. Strix 1080. Which one has lower? Anandtech is the only one with somewhat standard test configuration, those two doesn't.

>big boy toys so you complain about them so you feel better about your poo.
Yes, that must be it.

And the OC3D review 980 vs. 1080 shows 5 degrees difference in favour of 1080 (but when the fans on Strix 980 are at 65%, it's the other way around and at 65% its quieter than Strix 1080 on similar), but since they don't record desibels, it's exercise in futility.
>>
>>61440645
What the fuck? The review article http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/asus-geforce-gtx-980-strix-review,8.html show completely different temperatures.

And 1080 http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/asus-rog-strix-geforce-gtx-1080-review,9.html . Three degrees difference in favour of the 1080.

Dude the 1080ti strix temps are still better than the 980/980ti/1080 and they all use the same fucking cooler aside from the 980 using 2 fan. Lets not forget the 1080ti performs better than all of them by a considerable margin, I literally do not understand what you're going on about. You say the 1080ti strix is 5db louder when the fucking card cools over 10 degrees better than the 980ti. You're whack af.

Yes, but that doesn't mean you can't exhaust out the top at all, just not the top only. I have the top/back as exhaust with the front as the main intake.

>>61435092
>Exhaust out the top sucks. So noisy.
With just the CPU fan blowing that way it's not noisy; even under load.

The cooling is fine; this isn't an Intel housefire.

In my experience, I don't need that extra functionality out of my desktop case; I either don't need it or have a server for any of that in the other room. On my last build 6 years ago I went for a more adaptable case; hot swap mounts, expansion bays for blocks of disks, space for internal dvd/bluray reader/writer, more ports on the faceplate, etc. What I found was that I used most of that functionality sparingly, or not at all for a variety of reasons. The hot swap mounts don't serve a purpose for me anymore with e-sata / usb3 disk toasters, I rarely used optical media and still can with an external usb reader/writer, raided disks for redundant storage is handled by the aforementioned server (maintain availability even when I boot a different system on this machine), etc.

Forgetting what you said already huh? Read your first post.

Also you keep saying the 980ti OG had a two fan setup which is getting fucking annoying how wrong you completely are. strix 980ti launched with a 3 fan cooler that they are still using currently. https://www.eteknix.com/asus-launches-geforce-gtx-980-ti-strix-graphics-card/ never once did the strix980ti has a 2 fan cooler.

On top of this you're trying to shill me to buy a 980/1080 when the ti outperforms those two combined because you yourself think you hear it a tad bit louder. IDK about you but my card is virtually silent sub 70 degrees and even then i've never had mine go above 70 degrees running in OC mode. Even OC3D said running the card without its fans on never saw the temp go above 72c. GN has the 1080ti strix on top for best heatsink cooler and every review i've seen and personal experience prove to be a quiet card.

Keep arguing whatever it is youre trying to get at. What is it, did you want me to buy a 1080 or a 980 instead? Sorry dude, I like the performance I'm getting. The price I paid now is no different of the price I would've paid when the 980-1080 released.

Can't wait for when the 1180ti comes out I can see you now
>YOU SHOULD'VE BOUGHT THE STRIX 1080TI I-I-ITS COOLER AND QUIETER MAN

fucking retarded trying to shill the same company of cards with the same cooler and temps. How fucking dense are you

I don't know what is it that you don't understand or what exactly I'm 'forgetting'?
Strix 980 Ti launched with two fan heatsink, identical to their Strix 980 one. The three fan heatsink replaced some months later. I mean what the hell, I have one right here?
I have not brought 1080 Ti up anywhere, if that is the 'problem' you're referring to.

The old heatsink design - the guru3d review says so (higher load desibels on the newer design) - has identical or better cooling performance compared to the new one and the new one is larger and has extra fan and you seem to think it's better. And the Pascal card (1080) has lower power draw to begin with.
If it doesn't bother you that newer and 'better' design is worse or identical with caveats (higher desibels), then great, thats your problem. It does bother me. Maybe you're not burning your own money, in which case its understandable.
I don't know where you cut that picture, but the individual guru3d Strix 980 and Strix 1080 reviews show that the 980 is quieter with similar temps and it has that older two fan heatsink on it.

Congratulations, you made me reply again.
