I was wondering what y'all thought about the LG V20, HTC 10, and Pixel XL. I purchased the latter to give it a whirl, and because I wanted the option to use Project Fi if Verizon starts to bore me.

The DACs on the HTC 10, and LG V20 are very interesting to me, however, and I was just wondering if y'all thought that would outweigh the possibility of Project Fi & stock Android.

As far as I can tell the Sony Xperia XZ Premium is the best Android phone after the S8 so far this year.

Outside of the style with the big bezels, is there a reason why I shouldn't get it ?

There's even a dual SIM version, and I read you can enable the fingerprint sensor by flashing the ROM?

not chink, but nokia 6 is slightly more expensive (unless you're in US and have amazon prime). It's better choice if you want better camera (flagship tier) but weaker Soc (not that most people need top Soc anymore now that phone chips are more than good enough for anything besides gaming and niche activities) and smaller battery.

>>
>>61187299
Neither of those are enough to warrant it a failure. The phone has sold extremely well and essentially set a standard for this year's flagships.

And, as an S8+ owner, I've never had too much trouble with the Bixby button, and the screen is no easier to crack than any other smartphone.

OP5 LG G6 or Xiaomi Mi6

After 18+ months with the Nexus 6P, dealing with constant battery issues and a cracked screen, I am looking for a replacement.

What I'm looking for:

- Works with T-Mobile towers and potential network expansion.
- $400-500 price range
- Guaranteed update to Android O
- Decently sturdy (I love how well the N6P aluminum body held up).
- Fingerprint scanner
- USB Type-C with Fast Charging
- 3-4GB of RAM
- 32-64GB internal storage (N6P was 64GB model)
- Reliable manufacturer hardware support
- Unlocked, will be buying outright.

Optional:

- Waterproof
- SD Card slot
- Wireless charging

Phones I was looking at:

- Refurbished LG V20 (LG G6 if I can find it cheap enough)
- Blackberry KeyONE
- waiting for Pixel 2
- OnePlus 3T (maybe wait until the OP5 issues are fixed?)
- Motorola Moto Z (or Z2?)

It's not even the screen that you should consider as the biggest red flag.

It's the fact that their business practices are in line with the rest of native Chinese companies. Meaning they fucking lie through their teeth nonstop for profit margins and face zero accountability because they are Chinese.

The fact that they were OKAY with all the shit they've pulled is what should worry you.

Your grandma is not gonna multitask so 7700K is best consumer choice.

im not good with phone can you link through gsmarena? This looks really pretty I wouldnt mind buying it for 500$
is it another batch of galaxy note 7? similar to note FE?
>>
>>61190606
Is a certified batch of refurbished NOTE 7's.
They have all the certifications, the same specifications than the original model, but a new battery (smaller to prevent contact with the body) and two battery capacities 3300mAh (America & Korea) and 3000mAh (Europe).

They run with Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box and you can find note 7 accessories almost for free these days.

FE is another term for the Notes R

I'm currently on a Note 3 Pro. Our corporate apps don't work on MiUi so I think it's time for a different OS. Also feeling like taking the incremental upgrade from 4000 to 5000 mAh with the ZenPhone 3 Zoom.

Replacing Moto X (gen 2)

Country: US
Carrier: Needs to be able to travel internationally so GSM.
Features: Stock android, decent camera, relatively durable, a company which actually updates their phones
Budget: I prefer closer to midrange, but I mostly am focusing on price to performance ratio.
Size: I would prefer something around the size of my current phone.

I'm looking for a smartphone. Could some people give recs? I'm not a heavy smartphone user and my most intensive use-case would be gps/maps, snapchat, music, ssh, light web browsing

>Required:
- USA, AT&T, would prefer unlocked phone
- Maximum price: $350 but would would prefer lower
- Android (muh F-Droid). I'm willing to buy used.
- Apps run well enough (snapchat doesn't crash, video playback is acceptable)
- At least 16GB internal storage
- Smaller screen (Around or below 5.5)
- Decent camera
- Fingerprint sensor

>Desired:
- Removable Battery
- High availability of parts (if it gets broken, it's easy enough to get fixed third-party)
- Sturdy, waterproof

I'm currently looking at an Honor 5x, but would not be adverse to getting a used phone from swappa or elsewhere.

Who else plans to keep their current phone for a very long time? I've had the LG V20 for about 8 months now and I really see no reason to upgrade any time soon. I'll use this thing for years.

>Removable battery and expandable storage
(I have the zerolemon 10,000mAh battery so my phone never dies)
>4k screen
4k is a meme but it's nice to have.
>God-tier audio from the DAC
>High quality voice recording
>Really nice video recording options
>Second screen is a bit of a gimmick but it's handy to have
>System themes
High contrast theme is a really nice black theme

The KeyONE caught my eye but the lack of a removable battery and lack of root are dealbreakers. I can live without the physical keyboard because swipe typing is still pretty fast.

I have a PRIV.

Heats up, gets laggy, stuck on Marshmallow.

The existing options all have deal breakers for me. I can't stand Samsung, large phones, or short battery lives. The Experia XZ Premium has potential but it's even larger than the S8.

I considered the KeyOne but it literally falls apart.

Android fragmentation is so bad right now that if Apple comes out with an iPhone 7S this year then I'm switching to Apple.

I'm hoping Google's Pixel 2 saves me from doing that. But according to all leaks it's going to be underwhelming.

Maybe my PRIV could last another year.

40 mins SOT + some standby = 3% drain, get fucked lagdroid fans.
iPhone SE masterrace.

Because it has better compatibility with data globally
Couple threads ago I was advised to get the global version since my carrier is us t-mobile

They both support band 4 1.7ghz waves though. Online reviews have given me contradictory claims with how well they'd work. ..

M8 as long as you're not playing high definition 3d games you'll *probably* be fine with any processor from the last couple years

Are you looking at Redmi note 4?
Decacore at 2.0 ghz is plenty

Either the Redmi Note 4X (I'm the first poster :D) or the ZTE Blade V8 Pro. Moto G5+ could also be a possibillity
>>
>>61198127
The Global version and 4X is the same aside the bands. Probably because China came out with their mediakek 4 first and marketed the snapdragon as "4X" to differentiate the two.
>>
>>61198127
What? They both have SD625
>>
>>61198787
I thought the normal Note had a Mediatek one and was based only in India, idk
>>
>>61198794
There's four different versions of the phone
Redmi Note 4, with a Mediatek Helio X20 processor

Redmi Note 4, with a Snapdragon 625 processor (only sold in India so disregard this one)
Redmi Note 4X, with a Snapdragon 625 processor
Redmi Note 4 Global, also with a Snapdragon 625 processor

It is recommended to get one of the Snapdragon versions. The only difference between them is the network bands, you'll most likely want to get the 4 Global as it's the only version with band 4 (commonly used in the Americas) and band 20 LTE (used almost everywhere in Europe).

Is there even a decent dumbphone brand out there these days?

I'll be spending some time in dirty shitholes and need something quite reliable, practical, affordable, but now it's all overpriced fragile touchscreens. All dumbphones I find are either obscure chink stuff and meme card phones, or old Nokias/Samsungs whose stocks are dwindling, and prices soaring for some reason.

Is there any decent brand left that actively makes decent and affordable dumbphones?

Any time an app becomes active, for pulling notifications for example.

Nokia is still making dumbphones

I've been searching for an hour and all I could find is the new meme 3310. Thanks anon.

Though I found out Samsung makes some too but information is hard to find somehow, and the Convoys look pretty good. Seeing how this shit is mostly targetting 3rd world countries, that could explain why it's so hard to find them.

Thanks gents! What about the Honor 6X?

I'm going to get a cheap physical keyboard phone to try it out.
The priv seems most attractive, but I've also heard good things about the passport.
Any passport fans in here? Thoughts?

Can't speak for that particular one but being a poor faggot I bought the Redmi Note 3 Pro for $150

It doesn't feel like it's been made out of rice and child tears so that's good. Other than that the phone is pretty fast but run hot at moments.
