Wrong. Windows 7 works on Kaby Lake and it gets all the updates.
It's possible that you might run into some bug at some point, but so far it works just fine.

I think 10 is just a bad OS overall, spyware or not. It's a beta quality, unfinished mess and it shouldn't have been released to the public yet.
But after 7 and 8 stop getting updates (2020/2023) I'll switch to it, no big deal. I might keep it offline, though, in a VM or something and do the internet stuff on Linux.

i dual boot, and i prefer my arch with gnome for general desktop use over win10

it has better virtual desktop management, better UI design, better usability ( small things, like scrolling over volume icon to adjust volume, easy to use and install extensions, etc ), better font rendering ( if you replace the freeshit fonts with win or mac ones ), and it even runs and boots faster, and it doesnt make my harddrive spin everytime i leave it on standby.

i still need windows for certain programs though, otherwise id just ditch it for good, even though i got a relatively comfy setup, with shitton of autohotkey scripts and other adjustments.

Most of the telemetry shit in 10 was also in 8, 8 and 8.1. Any that wasn't has since been backported. If you actually give a shit about anonymised telemetry collection (which I personally don't) then you can turn it off with third party tools.
