I was invited to what in 2009 or 2010 or so and I became a devotee almost immediately. I would try my best to keep a somewhat high ratio (over 1.0), and fill as many requests from bandcamp or simple sources as I could. I didn't bother with ripping, because I knew nothing about the process or transcoding or whatever, and those things still evade me.
When what went down, I was delighted to see that Apollo was open-invite. Obviously...it's not really much of an option anymore. I tried to interview for Red, but failed the interview spectacularly, even after having done my research, because I'm not really a technically-minded person.
So: I can seed like a champ, I can fill requests, but the interview process of nearly all the major sites nowadays requires you to be somewhat tech-savvy, too. So what's the recourse of the casual user nowadays? Where can someone like me go to find a site that will match my (very basic, but devoted) set of skills? Do sites like that still exist?

Every user can grab as much music as they want for 24 hours. This not only spreads seeds around things that people may have been reluctant to DL due to zero returns, now everybody has fuckhuge seedbases, and all the stimulus will dig everybody out the RED and at least give some buffer, and now that everybody can have fuckhuge seedbases, they have more likely income sources, so they don't have to hoard every precious kb of upload

And, since it's only 24 hours, people that have big backlogs will only get stuff from that backlog, so it's not like it would be a good idea to DL everything on one's list and fuck off. Long term seeding will still be necessary for future releases or things you discover some time down the road

my universities internet is fast as fuck though up to almost 80 megaBYTES per second
They for sure monitor basic traffic but how can I make sure I'm safe?
