Spinners are technology after all. Here's my new titanium alloy, spinner, i call it the spinmasterX300. It's spinning pretty fast. I did make some modifications... I replace the stock crap steel bearings with Sterling silver A-line bearings. I also cleaned them and replaced the standard oil based lubricant with a more refined silicone grade lube. (The Canadian triple-filtered lubricant, not that lame euro trash). I'd say with these customizations I'm getting more quadspins per rotation. I think I topped out at about 1600 rpm. But I have to admit I'm suffering from a bad case of center wobble. (Probably due my geographical location near to the equator). Sigh.
Anyways what kind of mods have you made to your spinners, guys?
I bet you run Ubuntu.
Good thread

I can't even make fun of these things because there isn't even that much to bitch about.
You can't even do tricks with them.

windows 10 actually, i need my video games and dx10
These things make me mad because some sociopathic shit figured out a secret code to a billion dollars, and I'm reminded of that fact constantly because these things are everywhere.

You almost had me until "Sterling silver A-line bearings"
Almost

I have a cheapo spinner with fake bearings for the outer weights, do real bearings make a difference?
Got mine for 5 bucks and it spins really well. You will be fine as long as the spinner has some actual weight.

Back the fuck off?!?!
My niece asked for one similar to this. Will you sell me yours?

I know a couple of seriously mentally ill people (other than myself) and they have really cheap shitty chinkspinners, which they probably paid way too much for at a shitty retail chain, but they seem to enjoy them anyway. I sorta want to buy a spinner but I only want the "thinkpad" of spinners and I haven't found it yet.
>>61097609
>chinkspinners
fuck off.
you dont deserve to be an elite autist.

This attitude really pisses me off. And is the rest of all the shitty plastic fidget spinners flooding Youtube...
...Take for instance, the Vorso Flat Top. The is a >$100 hand finished luxury executive fidget spinner, aimed at CEOs and presidents. This isn't some stupid fad for kids on Youtube to mess about with while playing Minecraft. There are plenty of bespoke spinners that go for >$300 or even approaching the thousands. Would you call someone "autistic" for wearing a Patek Philippe watch? Or for driving a Mercedes Benz? I wish people would stop conflating cheap plastic spinners with luxury executive spinners...

well, looking at the design and the description of her "invention" in the patent document, i doubt that she'd win a courts case.
She's talking about a disk with a domed center which could be put on a finger, then can be spun around when the other hand pushes the side. While there are similarities with the fidget spinner, the mechanism is different, as the fidget spinner uses a center mass with ball bearing and 3 balance points.
What she describes is more similar to a plate on a stick.
If she described the toy in a more general way (as in a toy in any disk form which could be spun from the center) she'd would probably win, if she had the money for an attorney off course.
This attitude really pisses me off. And is the rest of all the shitty plastic fidget spinners flooding Youtube...

Not what happened. The patent ran out and Chinese copies flooded the market, prices near zero, large quantities on Chinese vendor sites so a bunch of hopeful ninnies set up market stalls put them on them made a small amount of money, snowballed from there but never any concerted profit Remember they cost $3 maximum.
Its like the hoverboard craze, made and sold at cost, no money out of that one either. Best type of fad desu there's no conscious manipulation by multinational profit-seeker just human reflexive stupid activity end-to-end.
Hey guys can i play too?
welp looks like the Japanese have perfected this tech.
It's not carbon fiber sandwiched on titanium sheets with centrifuge bearings balanced to with in .0005 grams?
What's it like to be poor?
>>61097046
>ricing the fuck out of a meme spinner
>>61098477
I would say that's just ruining it. Isn't the whole point of fidgets to give your fingers something to do constantly? It's more entertaining if it requires more user input, not less. Just holding it for 12 minutes isn't very fidget-y.
>>61098909
you let it spin on a table you tard

>Would you call someone "autistic" for wearing a Patek Philippe watch?
Perhaps wouldn't call that person autistic but I can't take owning a super expensive watch seriously either.

what if there was a spinner you could attach to a string and spin it on the end of the string. i have lots of ideas like this

Actually it's a fidget spinner you blind cuck
>>61098477
You know what spins faster than a 10000rpm hard drive? A 60000rpm turbomolecular pump with magnetic bearings. I'm working on putting one of these into a fidget spinner.

I don't like those things because my hands are too small to comfortably hold one without extending my fingers. Why are they so huge?
