Exact same thing to me on my laptop with gentoo. Though I figured out that one of the installed extension was doing it. uninstaling 2-3 suspicious extensions solved it for me, though I don't know which one exactly did this thing.

usually there's an extension installed. sometimes they reinstall themselves via malware installed on the pc, so run malwarebytes, and then clean out any extensions afterwards
