>>he only understands meme pointers
Shut up torvalds, not everyone is writing kernels
What about pointers to pointers?
>>61040190
still doesnt excuse le """smart""" pointer bullshit
if you cant figure out how to properly malloc/new and free/delete you shouldnt be a programmer
Sorry for minor hijack, but I can't make my own thread...
The last few days I've been unable to post images, just replies. It hangs on 'waiting for sys.4chan.org' , then after a few minutes defaults to 'problem loading page / secure connection failed'. This is Firefox on windows 10, but happens in Linux too. Since I can't post images, that means I cannot create threads.
Anyone else getting, or had similar? Any insight greatly appreciated.

You are aware that the Linux kernel has it's own smart-pointer types, right?
Look up all the get_* and put_* functions -- they implement atomic reference counting (aka they are no different than std::shared_ptr, the only difference is that you have to invoke them manually). There are even smart pointer-like functions that accept custom destructors, just like sepples smart pointers.

I can manually malloc/free just fine you retard, In fact I wrote the memory management system in my hobby kernel.
RAII is superior, and so are smart pointers.

wtf I hate the linux kernel now

As in reddit upboat pointers?
>>61040380
How does it feel being a fucking retard?
>>61040260
Tfw I haven't used c/c++ since college. Just unity libraries with c#.
Feels good to be productive
>>61044874
Why are you posting this? Are you insecure about C#?
