I'd commission custom motherboards to fit in pre 2012 thinkpads, modern hardware, even more ports, have the case rebuilt in titanium then have the stock finishes, original IBM logos, dual thinklights, custom keycaps, librebootable with no firmware blobs whatsoever, running temple os as my only operating system with windows vista on a live CD if I need networking.

Have a phone integrated into the motherboard and make calls via a headset. Or not. I don't really think I word be talking to people if money was no object.

My momentary zenbook does what i need and i have no use for a heavy laptop in my EDC.

If money was no object, I would create a fully open source laptop with an open source cpu and open source gpu. Schematics for the motherboard, cpu, gpu, and literally everything would be freely available. Even the 3D CAD files for the case would freely available. CPU might be based on something like OpenSPARC, basically something that already exists and can easily be compiled for.

I would start a company selling these, which would soon destroy Apple and Microsoft, ushering in a new era of computing, the ethics of which will spill into society itself. Needless suffering, war, starvation would all be gone in this new era of cooperation

Last time I checked, the 7th row didn't work on the x230 if you swapped the keyboard. Any modified BIOS also needs to be flashed using an EEPROM programmer due to some UEFI security thing. But since it is a money is no object thread, I guess all of that can be easily fixed for the right price.
