Can i move windows from my current laptop to a new one?
>>60854662
no.
Read the eula!
no, i'm pretty sure they wouldn't fit
>>60854662
Yes. Clonezilla.
>>60854662
Yes but I seriously suggest you don't.
You might run into weirdness, driver trouble, carry over old leftover files and more.
Make a clean install and just move over anything you want to save using a USB drive or something.
I did that yeargs ago, from one Dell to another Dell
I used a live CD to prepare Windows after the move (it removes all kinds of drivers that you have installed, so that less conflicts arise). I forgot the name of it, but it worked great.
Probably won't work on really old, used Windows installations. Try and see.

psst, why not just swap the hard drives/SSDs
Please buy a new license, you immoral piece of botnet.
>>60854662
technically you can, but don't do that. See >>60854869
It's better to just do a clean install and transfer all the files you need. You can also transfer the application settings by copying selected folders from %appdata%

lower speed and/or capatity comes to mind
stop making new threads for simple questions: >>>/g/sqt
>>60854955
depends on how new the laptop is, i mean it might just be new laptop with slightly better specs
>>60854662
1. sysprep /generalize
2. clone (if not just reusing the same disk)
3. ???
>>60854869
>>60854955
most weirdness comes from neglecting to generalize the install
moving windows without generalizing it first is unsupported
>>60854662
if its licensed it will deactivate on new hardware
>>60854662
Sure: just use a remote X server.
>>60854662
sysprep
%windir%\System32\Sysprep\Sysprep.exe /generalize
>>60856495
just sysprep /generalise s enough
